Responding to the latest reports from Calais, Labour’s Shadow Immigration Minister David Hanson MP said:
The Government seriously need to get a grip on this situation. A series of panicky announcements on policies that were planned before this crisis emerged just won’t cut it. Telling landlords to act as a second tier border force and removing support from asylum seekers already in our country will not stop so many desperate people putting themselves and others in danger to get across the border.
This needs a careful and considered international response. The government should be focused on leading pan-European efforts to stop people crossing the Mediterranean, then making their way to Britain’s borders, instead of using a series of re-announcements as a distraction.
However the The European Commission has appealed to Britain to show “solidarity” and take more migrants under Jean Claude-Juncker’s controversial quota scheme. Mina Andreeva, Juncker’s spokesman, said the situation in Calais has “deteriorated” and co-operation between the French and the UK is welcome but she said the crisis proves that “all” EU member states need to take part in a scheme that sought to resettle 40,000 migrants across the continent to ease the pressure on Italy and Greece, which are taking the lion’s share of those arriving across the Mediterranean.
Britain (of course – seeing we created most of the mess in Africa e.g Libya) has opted out from the scheme, as is it right under the special carve-outs given to the UK and Denmark when it comes to EU justice and home affairs rules.

Henri Guaino, a lawmaker from the opposition French right-wing party Les Republicains, called on the UK to “do their share”, saying:
There is no reason for these people to be stored – if I may say this because it’s almost that – in France. It cannot go on like this. The situation is fairly simple. Migrants come to Calais to get to England. England does not want them. Therefore the migrants pile up in Calais and try by whatever means they can to reach England.

If discovered, they are normally dealt with by police while any criminal investigation is carried out. If judged to be an immigration matter, it is passed to the Home Office.
Then what?
They are questioned about their reasons for entering the UK. If deemed to be in the UK illegally (and they do not claim asylum) they are deported
Where are they detained?
The obvious destination for those arriving from Calais is the immigration removal centre in Dover, but there are 12 centres in the UK.
What if someone claims asylum?
They are detained or granted temporary release while a decision is made.
How many are making it across the Channel?
In the five weeks from the start of June, more than 400 immigrants were found by British police hiding in vehicles or trains. As many as 148 are thought to have reached Britain on a single day in July.

And what gets me the most is that our benefit system is not exactly the best in Europe anyway. A lot of migrants flock to London where the prices are the highest and a jobseekers allowance or income support of £140 a fortnight would literally get you nowhere.
It may be a lot of money back in the migrants homeland of Sudan or Libya but over here with high fuel costs, high rent, high food and other costs it is nothing. It was nothing when I was on it – one day up the pub usually – only because I lived at home when I had just left college.
However if you look at Germany’s benefit system, there are two levels depending on whether you have been working or haven’t or have come to the end of the first section which states:
If the claimant has no children, they receive 60 percent of their previous net earnings. If caring for children under 18, this rises to 67 percent. This benefit is payable for 90 to 360 days, depending on the length of previously insured employment and age. A full year’s unemployment benefit is received if the person has worked for two calendar years or more (18 months for those aged over 55).
That means myself, who has worked for the last 10+ years without a break would get my whole years salary for the first year! That is way more than £140 * 12 (£1,680) a good few dozen times more. The more you earn, the more you get when your unemployed, this is how it should be. If you are living a more expensive lifestyle due to the amount of money your job was bringing in then you would need a lot more money to survive on wouldn’t you. Then after this first year OR if you have never worked OR worked at least one day in Germany and for at least 360 days over 3 years in your last EU country of residence you get the following.
Subsistence allowance (Arbeitslosengeld II)
This allowance is lower than ordinary unemployment benefit and is payable when the claimant cannot receive full benefit or their period of benefit has come to an end, but they are still fit to work and registered as unemployed. Whether or not a person can claim for Arbeitslosengeld II will depend on savings, spouse’s earnings and life insurance. A set amount is paid for those requiring social assistance (about €350 per month). Claimants must attend training courses, and be ready to step into any job offered them by the Arbeitsamt, even a very low paid one. Exceptions to this rule are sometimes allowed on mental, physical or psychological grounds or in cases where pay rates are deemed immorally low.
Exactly how much social assistance an individual receives depends on several factors, such as number and age of children as well as marital status.
So €350 is about £245.97 and more than two fortnights £140 however at least Germany has the logic to split their system up so that people who need more get more. How it treats migrants and asylum seekers I don’t know but for David Cameron to claim people cross deserts and seas just to claim our generous benefit system really pisses me off.
In my area if you are NFA (No Fixed Abode – Homeless) it doesn’t even put you on the priority list for housing! You have to be dying (with less than a year to live) or seriously disabled to get a place om our register. I was on it then I got kicked off after reaching enough points to bid on places saying single men should be able to look after themselves – or words to those affect.
If you are lucky enough to have already had a place to stay and are made unemployed you can claim housing benefit but this is being slashed by our caring loving Tory government. Anyway I just thought I would break it down for you about what is happening on this side of the pond regarding the masses of people trying to get into the country.
Five more years of hell as the Tories win the UK election

Did any of you foresee the result of the recent UK general election in which the Tories won an overall majority despite every poll leading up to the election calling it too close to call.
There was a general expectation across the media that there would be another hung parliament and probable coalition government with the Lib Dems as King Makers.
The multitude of polls preceding the election were very wrong, whilst the exit poll was spot on.
This led to ex Lib Dem leader Paddy Ashdown to embarrassingly have to “eat his cake” on the subsequent BBC’s Question Time due to his comments on election night TV that:
“If these exit polls are right I will eat my hat” – Paddy Ashdown
His party, the Lib Dems were almost wiped out and went down to single figures losing 49 seats and leaving just 8 MP’s in parliament.
Along with 2 other party leaders, one of which changed his mind after a day (Mr Farage), the Lib Dems leader Nick Clegg immediately resigned leaving the future of the party in doubt along with Labours.
The Labour party also had a bad night, almost being wiped out in Scotland, and losing 26 seats. However Labour still managed a 30% share of the popular vote despite pundits calling the election “too close to call” right up until the votes came rolling in for the Tories across England.
The Lib Dems were never going to be forgiven by their core voters for joining the right-wing Tories instead of their natural cohorts, the left leaning Labour party, in a coalition. Many Tory back benchers were very unhappy at the unequal number of Lib Dem ministerial posts that were given out to their junior partners in the collation that was, as we were kept reminded, in “national interest”.
Whilst they may have helped prevent some Tory excesses and helped push the amount you can earn before paying income tax up above £10k, they showed their lack of respect for the voters, mostly young and left leaning, when they broke a much publicised pre-election promise never to raise University tuition fees. This promise was broken almost as soon as Nick Clegg got made Deputy PM and access to ministerial chauffeurs and apartments.

Tax breaks for the rich, a raise in VAT which is a tax raise that affects the poorest the most, a massive failure to reverse the huge police state Labour had built up and a decimation of the benefit system to save money instead of taxing the banksters who had caused the financial crisis were all unforgivable as well.
We were kept being told that the deficit was shrinking whilst in fact it grew along with the national debt. The last Government was not a success story at all.
Maybe Nick Clegg saw joining the Tories as his only chance to get some modicum of power whilst he could. He must have known the writing was on the wall when he basically stuck two fingers up at his constituents and joined the Tories. Letting the banksters get off scot-free, supporting the Tories war on Libya and speaking out for Israel instead of condeming it when it attacked Gaza which was quite common to hear when they were the third-party with no expectation of favours for power. However the change in stance and policy to fit in with the Tories were just some of the things that annoyed grass root Lib Dem voters.
He thought the electorate were willing to vote for constant coalition with a referendum on a change in voting but the country wasn’t ready for the watered down choice they had to make. Maybe if they had made their point after the recent election more people would have been willing to vote for a change.
You just need to look at how the popular vote in the recent election matched seats to see how many people would be pissed about the current voting system.
The Green party and UKIP together won around 16% of the popular vote (5,038,712 votes) yet only returned one MP each to Westminster.
Yet on the other hand the SNP won far less when it came to the popular vote, Scotland has a population of 5.2 million and only 1,454,436 people voted for the SNP, yet they took all but 3 Scottish seats, 56, a massive gain of 50!
They almost managed to take every single seat in Scotland but instead chose to leave one each for the major 3 parties taking the remaining 50 seats. The SNP are sending a nationalist mob down South who want to see an end to the union and more Scottish powers devolved. This includes the articulate and always enjoyable to watch debate, former leader of the party, Alex Salmond as an MP.
People who had never thought about electoral reform are now calling for it.
Those people who say we only just had a referendum on changing our first past the post system seem to forget that the choice on the cards for voters was not a proper proportional system but instead a form of alternative voting. This is where you would mark an alternative candidate who would take your vote if no-one managed an overall majority.
It does seem odd that Scotland’s 1.5 million voters can send 56 MPS to Westminster yet England can vote over 5 million to achieve just 2 MP’s.
So now without the Lib Dem’s “Steadying Hand“, as one of their election adverts put it. There to prevent Labour spending all the cash again and there to prevent the Tories from being too mean, we are now left with an overall Conservative majority.
That means that there is no-one to stop them hammering away at the poor whilst letting their rich benefactors and friends all off with tax cuts and a far too complicated tax system that provides enough loop holes for most of the Tory front bench to keep multi million pound trust funds overseas and away from the UK tax man.
Surely this is a money bomb for accountants and the rich looking for loop holes.
The Hong Kong tax code, widely held by tax lawyers to be the most efficient in the world, is a mere 276 pages long.
The British tax code which has tripled in size since Blair got into government in 1997 is currently in excess of 17,000 pages!
If our government really wanted to claw back some money from waste they would surely shorten this gargantuan piece of legislature.
As anyone knows the longer and more complicated a piece of legislation the more loopholes and get out of jail cards are to be found within its pages.
Instead they will carry on using their right-wing supporter rags of papers, the Sun and The Daily Mail, to attack benefits claimants and the poor. Obviously forgetting the fact that benefit claimants had nothing to do with the banking crash or the dramatic rise in the national debt and deficit under the previous two administrations.
Instead they get $1.9 billion fines in-case the banking system is “destabilised“.
I don’t understand why their banking licence could have been kept whilst still jailing the bankers in control of the slush funds and drug cartel accounts as an example. London must continue to be the bankster capital of the world it seems. This won’t change under any Tory administration.
What will change under the new Government?
Well let’s watch embarrassingly as our country, who actually came up with the European Convention on Human Rights, pulls out of the Human Rights Act. This is despite the fact that it was written by Conservatives after World War II to show the newly freed countries that some things related to a countries ethics and morals should be set in stone and not relative to a countries current situation.
This will be something that will not only be a massive blow to civil rights in this country unless replaced by an English Bill of Rights that actually means something and is kept to, not invalidated bit by bit over the years as the US Bill of Rights has been.
People don’t seem to realise that the Human Rights Act although abused by a small minority of terror suspects in jail or on control orders trying to prevent extradition to countries where they will be tortured – including the USA – is there to protect them as well.
You may read the odd cherry picked Daily Mail horror story about the new Abu Hamza we can’t extradite to a country X or Y where they maybe tortured or executed. Why, because we have morals and see ourselves as a civilised country not a 7th century Islamic State where heads roll as often as the weapons we sell them are unboxed.
The national debt will continue to grow due to the lack of GDP, plus the interest rate apartheid which sees banks loan money from the Bank of England at half a percent whilst the average man now has to rely on WONGA loans with an APR of 1,500%.
The current national debt stands at £1.36 trillion, almost triple the £0.53 trillion it stood at in 2008, the time of the economic collapse and grows at £5,170 per second.

“Mainstream media headlines today are focused on Britain’s record national debt, which just surpassed £1 trillion, a figure that can only exponentially increase unless the entire mechanism of Government finance is overhauled. The truth however is much worse, factoring in all liabilities including state and public sector pensions, the real national debt is closer to £4.8 trillion, some £78,000 for every person in the UK.“

During 2007, the Labour government borrowed £37.7bn, of which £28.3bn was invested in big projects (the balance of £9.4bn represents the current budget deficit). However during the last government during 2013, the Conservative-led coalition borrowed £91.5bn, with just £23.7bn invested.
So when you hear George Osborne talk about fixing the hole in the roof or reducing the deficit / national debt, take it with a big pinch of salt.
Instead of recouping and saving billions by doing just some of the following ideas they are mostly going to attack the poorest in society, both here and abroad.
It really pisses me off when I hear MP’s call our rotating Trident submarines at sea an “independent” nuclear deterrent. This is because they all rely on US GPS satellite systems. Unless we put our own GPS system up into space we would always have to ask the permission of our US allies to fire any nuclear missiles anyway. Therefore it makes the whole system redundant. What if we had to go to war with the USA? Why not save the £34bn and spend it on the NHS instead. Nukes are not going to help in the war against terror and when China and the USA finally duke it out our piddly number of missiles is going to be inconsequential when it comes down to it. Satellites will be one of the first victims of any war between the US and China. Falling from the skies like rain drops in any major conflict as China and the USA race to become the superior technological and information power house before any real bullets or nukes are fired. As China showed the world in 2007 when it downed one of it’s own Satellites with weapons from earth, it is willing and able to take the modern battlefield that one step further and into space by making the US armies massive reliance on information and technology redundant.
We seem to blindly follow US policy as if it’s our own. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost the UK £20bn by 2010 and the final cost when you add in extras such as the cost to society due to the fact that a large proportion of homeless people, those with mental health problems and prisoners are ex service men will increase that by the end of 2015. Add to that the £1.75bn cost of David Cameron’s war in Libya and the cost we are now dealing with due to the failed states we have created across North Africa, people smuggling into Europe, and increased security checks on immigrants due to fears ISIS is using people trafficking to implant sleeper cells in the country and the cost of recent wars reaches £12bn. This does not even include secret wars such as our involvement training fighters in Syria, Ukraine and Yemen.
During 2010-11, the HMRC estimated that companies were avoiding tax worth £4.1bn however some campaigners such as Richard Murphy of Tax Research UK, think that the real figure could be £12bn or more. This is not even including the amounts of money “legally” avoided by our huge tax code that gives corporations such as Vodafone the means to avoid £6bn in tax during 2010, an act which spawned the anti-austerity protest group UK Uncut.
Added together legal and illegal tax avoidance could easily be in the £20bn+ figure per fiscal year.
These are just 3 things that could be done to prevent more austerity whilst increasing spending, generating growth by creating jobs and not wasting money on pointless exercises in hubris by going to war to destroy a country only to spend more money trying to re-construct it and deal with the aftermath of failed states such as Libya and the recent people smuggling epidemic.
Has David Cameron even admitted that the hundreds of people dying in the Mediterranean are related to the failed states of Libya and it’s neighbours which we helped create. From Tony Blairs 2004 kiss with Gaddafi in the desert to blockades to prevent immigrants reaching Europe in two easy steps.

Will the Tory government do any of these 3 easy ways to save dozens of billions of pounds?
The answer is obviously no.
The divide between the rich and poor will get wider.
The people who keep the lights on in London won’t even be able to afford to live in the city they work in due to the average house costing £350,000. Even in certain rich areas of London like Kensington, up to 70% of houses are classified as “Second Homes”. Even the local paper shops for the rich people of Chelsea are shutting down due to the influx of rich Chinese and Russians buying up our capital city.
Instead the Tories will attack immigrants, benefit claimants, people who cannot get good jobs and rely on job seekers allowance and more diversionary tactics as they continue Maggie Thatcher’s dream of a total privatised country.
We only have 5 more years until we get another chance to vote for a party to represent us. The problem is there doesn’t seem to be a party on the horizon I can see myself putting a cross against anytime soon.
Labour is Tory Lite, and with the resignation of Ed Milliband, a person many could never imagine seeing as PM, much in the same way I can never imagine Boris Johnson as PM, let alone Mayor of London, we have no real party that represents the people anymore.
The Greens did well to get 1 million votes but with our current system of voting, one MP per million votes in England is not going to get us far and they still have an environmental edge that puts many off them despite the fact that if you read their manifesto there would be many aspects to it that you could find yourself agreeing with. Maybe it is just the fact that they are led by a woman and their only MP, Caroline Lucas from Brighton is a woman who puts many working class men off from voting for them.
Personally this election, I did as I said I would and spoilt my ballot paper. This was because there was no-one on it that represented my views. I live in an area where Tories have always ruled and there is no chance of Labour or Lib Dems getting in instead. In one election in my ward Labour and the Lib Dems didn’t even try to contest the seat which allowed the racist BNP to come 2nd!
I hoped enough people would do the same so that even this amount of spoiled papers would have to be recorded along with party numbers and shown in graphs such as the one from the BBC website I put on this page.
From anecdotal evidence from people I spoke to at various events and groups I know quite a few people also spoilt their papers.
I would still love to know how many people did write “None of the above” or spoilt their ballot in some way or another.
If you took the effort and time out of your day to go and vote there should be a “None of the above” option by default to measure peoples dissatisfaction with local politicians or political parties. However because there isn’t we should create our own.
Hopefully by the time of the next election a party which doesn’t represent the Axis of War, Austerity, Tax cuts for the rich and attacks on the poor will emerge, a bit like how the Unions created Labour. The only exception is that we don’t want to see our new party being taken away from us slowly and infiltrated by MI5 to ensure when it becomes electable it’s going to be “establishment ready”like MI5 asset Tony Blairs successful attempt to turn Labour from a real Left wing socialist party to Tories with northern accents.
We have plenty of protest groups about but no political consensus or a political body that we can use as an umbrella for them to rest under.
Students, the young unemployed, the people who cannot afford to live anywhere due to the lack of cheap housing, the anti-war brigade, the pro privacy, anti GCHQ/NSA Pirate groups. UK Uncut, Occupy, anti-austerity groups, religious organisations and charities that manage food banks and support the poor. These are just a few of the protest groups around at the moment.
Groups helping wounded soldiers and soldiers disillusioned with the wars they have been forced to fight. People working 50 hour weeks on minimum wage or not being able to take loans out at decent interest rates due to interest rate apartheid. These are more people who might be looking for a new political home.
Basically anybody who doesn’t want to see the gap between the rich and poor get wider would be a perfect member or voter for such a Peoples Party.
In the meantime let’s just hope we still have a public NHS, a decent benefit system and proper jobs with decent pay in 5 years time rather than another tripling of the National Debt and more lies about reducing our debt that the current Chancellor likes to spiel.
Anti Syrian War Campaign – “I didn’t join the military to fight for al-Qaeda” #IdidntJoin #NoSyriaWar

It looks like a new anti Syrian war campaign has been launched online and I urge every serving military member or veteran to support it if they don’t believe that their country should be fighting alongside al-Qaeda in Syria.
I have made article after article detailing how we are basically funding, supporting and fighting alongside al-Qaeda rebels from Libya to Syria. It now seems that many serving military feel the same. They don’t want to fight alongside the same people the US Government blame for terror attacks against the US people.
Since the Arab Spring started which is basically a US backed plot to cause de-stabilisation around the Middle East we have witnessed Libya, Tunisia and now Egypt turned into failed states. Syria and then Iran are next on the list.
Al-Qaeda, The Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic extremists like al-Nusra Front aim to, and have succeeded in some cases to control their own areas of the countries they are causing havoc in and in the countries already wiped clean with our help such as Libya and Egypt there is no functioning government to speak of.
The Libyan rebel commanders we supported with tax payers money are even people our Government once claimed were terrorists and some were even locked up in Gitmo such as Abdelhakim Belhaj the founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. This is the al-Qaeda linked group that ex British MI6 agent, David Shayler and two French reporters with links to ex-president Jacques Chirac claimed the British paid to assassinate Col. Gaddafi in 1996.
Why is it our leaders are so keen to back the heart eating, beheading, child killing nutters that are basically the same people who kill our own soldiers such as the horrible case of Lee Rigby in London?
How strange it is that terrorist are friends one minute then enemies the next. Their status changes so fast it is hard to know whether we are supposed to hate them or support them. Obama would certainly like us to support them in another illegal adventure in Syria.
As I wrote in my recent article “Are we ready to go to war with Russia over Syria” there is plenty of evidence that recent chemical attacks weren’t even carried out by the Assad regime as the mainstream propaganda would like us to believe. In fact there is more than enough evidence and credible witnesses who claim it was Syrian rebels who deployed the weapons, either by mistake because they didn’t know how to use them, or on purpose to blame on the Syrian regime.
Experts like John Hart, head of the Chemical and Biological Security Project at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Gwyn Winfield, editor of CBRNe World magazine, which specialises in chemical weapons issues and even the Israeli paper Haaretz have cast doubts on the claims that the chemical weapons attack was an Assad job.
The fact that the British parliament voted against joining the US in any attack, a first that I know of, and that Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for Obama to present his evidence at the UN is a sign that many outside the axis of war believe there isn’t enough evidence to go to war over this. The problem is our war mongering leaders just don’t want to listen.
The mainstream media seems to be very quiet when it comes to evidence that points away from President Assad but even if he did carry out the attack are we really prepared to send our sons and daughters to fight alongside these Islamic nutters?
The mainstream media has been strangely quiet on all the Christians who are being killed, their churches and graveyards destroyed and the peril they will be in if we allow Islamic extremists to take over these countries.
President Assad may be a dictator, but Christians and Muslims have lived side by side in Syria for hundreds of years. The problem is he is not “our dictator” and the chemical weapons he supposedly used were not authorised by us. Not like during the Iraq / Iran war in which we didn’t kick up too much of a fuss when Saddam Hussein gassed thousands of Iranians with our knowledge.
We are now considering backing these various groups of Islamic extremists in Syria.
Both the al-Nusra Front and al-Qaeda rebels are fighting President Assad in their civil war and they want to establish an Islamic al-Qaeda state if successful. Do you really think they will be grateful for our support or are they just using us for their own ends. Do you really see them handing over any weapons that fall into their hands from NATO supplies after any war is over? They sure didn’t in Libya.
So if there is a campaign starting online I am all behind it. I hope as many soldiers from countries planning on fighting join it as possible.
Why the fuck would any US or NATO soldier for that matter want to fight on the same side as al-Qaeda. Weren’t they the whole reason this war on terror was started in the first place?
Anyone who knows anything realises the CIA control these rebels and they are used as the perfect patsies to de-stabilise countries so that we can enter on white horses as saviours to humanity. The sad thing is that we are no such thing, we are moral relativists who have no ethical boundaries when it comes to war. If there is money to be made or oil to be drilled then that is all the excuse we need.

Most people who haven’t had their heads up their asses for the last decade have realised that something wasn’t quite right concerning our supposed “mortal enemy” al-Qaeda.
For those citizens soaked in mainstream propaganda and believers of everything the government says, al-Qaeda is the new Soviet Union.
They are North Korea and Iran combined with the possibility of a dirty nuke or two thrown into the mix.
They were the architects of 9.11 and the reason we have been at war for the past decade.
They are the reason some people are willing to give their lives fighting for “freedom” in Afghanistan or Iraq.
However for those people who know some history they have never been too far away from our intelligence agencies control. As Robin Cook the ex UK Home Secretary informed us after the London bombings in an article he wrote for the Guardian. Al-Qaeda are nothing more than a creation of the CIA.
“Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. al-Qaeda, literally “the database”, was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. ” – Robin Cook, The Guardian, 2005
Created as a pawn by Zbigniew Brzezinski to play on his Grand Chessboard. Al-Qaeda, or as they were known back then, the Mujahideen, were a group of CIA funded Islamic “freedom fighters” who were fighting the USA’s proxy war against the USSR during the 80’s. Designed to draw the Soviet Union into their very own Vietnam and sap the strength and morale from the conscript army, the clash of civilisations was never meant to be the west versus Islam but the atheist communists fighting the huge swathes of Islamic people contained within their old borders.
The Afghan war certainly did as the USA wanted and a decade was spent funding what we know now as al-Qaeda. Osama bin-Laden and other Islamic fighters were trained, funded and even praised by the USA back then as heroes and revolutionaries as they took out Soviet helicopters with American ground to air missiles and used the opium harvests to get the Soviet conscripts addicted and de-moralised whilst spending the profits on their war.

The “Islamic Jihad” (or holy war against the Soviets) became an integral part of the CIA’s intelligence ploy. It was supported by the United States and Saudi Arabia, with a significant part of the funding generated from the Golden Crescent drug trade:
“In March 1985, President Reagan signed National Security Decision Directive 166 … [which] authorize[d] stepped-up covert military aid to the Mujahideen, and it made clear that the secret Afghan war had a new goal: to defeat Soviet troops in Afghanistan through covert action and encourage a Soviet withdrawal. The new covert U.S. assistance began with a dramatic increase in arms supplies — a steady rise to 65,000 tons annually by 1987 … as well as a “ceaseless stream” of CIA and Pentagon specialists who travelled to the secret headquarters of Pakistan’s ISI on the main road near Rawalpindi, Pakistan. There, the CIA specialists met with Pakistani intelligence officers to help plan operations for the Afghan rebels.” – Steve Coll, The Washington Post, July 19, 1992.
What is less known by many is that these close links between al-Qaeda and the west continued far after the end of the Afghan / Soviet war. The Mujahideen were recruited by the CIA from a large number of Muslim countries including jihadists from the Soviet Muslim republics.
Among these recruits was the leader of the Chechnya rebellion Shamil Basayev who in the immediate fall of the USSR led Chechnya’s first secessionist war against Russia. Shamil Basayev had links to US intelligence from the late 1980s. He was involved in the 1991 coup d’Etat which led to the break-up of the Soviet Union and was subsequently involved in Chechnya’s unilateral declaration of independence from the Russian Federation in November 1991.
During his training in Afghanistan, Shamil Basayev linked up with Saudi born veteran Mujahideen Commander “Al Khattab” who had fought as a volunteer in Afghanistan. Barely a few months after Basayev’s return to Grozny, Khattab was invited (early 1995) to set up an army base in Chechnya for the training of Mujahideen fighters. According to the BBC, Khattab’s posting to Chechnya had been “arranged through the Saudi-Arabian based [International] Islamic Relief Organisation, a militant religious organisation, funded by mosques and rich individuals which channeled funds into Chechnya”. – BBC, 29 September 1999.
Therefore it is no lie to suggest that the CIA and the west created and supported what was later known as al-Qaeda. In fact bin-Laden and his group were actually a very small organisation and when the time came to paint them as a bogey man it was apt that the CIA’s own book of jihadists would be the name for the new bogeyman under the bed.
The UK, as attested to by ex MI5 agent David Shayler, funded an al-Qaeda offshoot called the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) to assassinate Col. Gaddafi during the 90’s. His whistleblowing led to his imprisonment for breaking the official secrets act and the case rocked the front pages of the UK press for quite a time.
As reported by major UK papers the plot involved:
“..contacts between MI6 and a group of Middle Eastern plotters who tried unsuccessfully to blow up Gadaffi’s motorcade. The report, coded CX95/ 53452, was passed to senior Foreign Office officials. It revealed when and where the assassination attempt was due and said that at least 250 British-made weapons were distributed among the plotters. The four-page CX document was published on the California-based Yahoo! website. The Sunday Times has complied with a request by Rear-Admiral Nick Wilkinson, secretary of the government’s defence, press and broadcasting advisory committee, not to print the address of the website on which the CX report is published.” – Sunday Times, 13 February 2000
In fact we were so concerned about the dangers of the LIFG, al-Qaeda and bin-Laden that we even ignored an Interpol arrest warrant that was issued by Libya for bin-Laden and even helped linked terrorists evade capture by granting them political asylum.
“British intelligence paid large sums of money to an al-Qaeda cell in Libya in a doomed attempt to assassinate Colonel Gadaffi in 1996 and thwarted early attempts to bring Osama bin Laden to justice…. two French intelligence experts ……reveal that the first Interpol arrest warrant for bin Laden was issued by Libya in March 1998. According to journalist Guillaume Dasquié and Jean-Charles Brisard, an adviser to French President Jacques Chirac, British and US intelligence agencies buried the fact that the arrest warrant had come from Libya ……. Five months after the warrant was issued, al-Qaeda killed more than 200 people in the truck bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania…. The Libyan al-Qaeda cell included Anas al-Liby, who remains on the US government’s most wanted list with a reward of $25 million for his capture. He is wanted for his involvement in the African embassy bombings. Al-Liby was with bin Laden in Sudan before the al-Qaeda leader returned to Afghanistan in 1996. Astonishingly, despite suspicions that he was a high-level al-Qaeda operative, al-Liby was given political asylum in Britain and lived in Manchester until May of 2000” – The Observer, 2002.
Then there was the Kosovan war in the Balkans in which we decided to support the Islamic separatists against their Serbian government and fought alongside the al-Qaeda linked KLA. The Washington Times reported on reports from Janes Defence Review that:
“..the town of Tropoje, Albania was a”common staging area” for Bin Laden’s and the KLA’s forces, and thus “a center for Islamic terrorists.” US intelligence also acknowledged that Bin Ladin’s al-Qaeda had “both trained and financially supported” the Albanians, and that the Kosovo border had been infiltrated by Bosnian, Chechen and Afghan mujahedeen, in “…crossings (which) originated in neighboring Albania and, according to the reports, included parties of up to 50 men.” – Washington Times, 4th May 1999.
Lenard Cohen a professor of political science at Simon Fraser University stated that:
“The arrival in the Balkans of the so-called Afghan Arabs, who are from various Middle Eastern states and linked to al-Qaeda, began in 1992 soon after the war in Bosnia.”
Mujahedeen Fighters, who had fought in Afghanistan against the Soviet occupation in the 1980s later “migrated to Bosnia hoping to assist their Islamic brethren in a struggle against Serbian [and for a time] Croatian forces.”
Slobodan Milosevic actually tried to present this evidence at his trial in the Hague for war crimes and logically it seems strange that the western NATO forces were fighting alongside known terrorists against a Christian country. commenting on Milosevic’s evidence, James Bissett, an expert on Balkans affairs and a former Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia stated that:
“Milosevic is right. There is no question of their participation in conflicts in the Balkans. It is very well documented.”
“Many members of the Kosovo Liberation Army were sent for training in terrorist camps in Afghanistan,”
So it was well-known that during the 90’s when al-Qaeda was starting to be pushed by the media as a worldwide terrorist organisation that we still had close links to this dangerous force. Were our western intelligence agencies actually in control of this terrorist group or were we only in control of key assets within al-Qaeda like bin-Laden who enabled us to pull their strings?
I don’t know but even after 9.11 when the world was up in arms at the group for supposedly attacking the USA in the most sophisticated terrorist attack known in history evidence emerged to show that we were still closely linked to the group.
Even worse it suggested we were even linked to the terrorists who had carried out the attacks! Were we funding them? Were they double-crossing us or did we allow them to carry out the attack to fulfil the aims prophesied in the Project for the New American Century document – Rebuilding America’s Defences.
Sibel Edmonds, an ex FBI translator, was gagged and prevented from telling the world what she knew. She has offered to break her silence on US mainstream news but oddly no news channel has taken her up on this offer. However we do know from her comments that she claims:
“With those groups, we had operations in Central Asia,” said former Turkish language translator Sibel Edmonds on Friday speaking on the radio program, the Mike Malloy Show. Sibel said the US maintained ‘intimate relations’ with bin Laden, and the Taliban, “all the way until that day of September 11.”
These ‘intimate relations’ included using bin Laden for ‘operations’ in Central Asia, including Xinjiang, China. These ‘operations’ involved using al-Qaida and the Taliban in the same manner “as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict,” that is, fighting ‘enemies’ via proxies. – Sibel Edmonds, Times of India, Aug 3rd 2009.
So the American government doesn’t want the close ties between the US government and al-Qaeda to be known otherwise they wouldn’t have gagged Sibel Edmonds. Also we know from investigations carried out after 9.11 that the Israeli government was closely following the 9.11 terrorists around the USA, even living doors away from them at times. If this is true then why didn’t they tell the USA, and if they did then did someone ignore their warning? Was this deliberate?
Even the staunch right wing, nationalistic and pro-war FOX News carried out a 4 part investigation into these Israeli spy rings. An investigation which was soon taken down from their website due to pressure by pro-Israeli pressure groups. You can read the full investigation on my site but key parts include:
“Since Sept. 11, more than 60 Israelis have been arrested or detained, either under the new patriot anti-terrorism law, or for immigration violations. A handful of active Israeli military were among those detained, according to investigators, who say some of the detainees also failed polygraph questions when asked about alleged surveillance activities against and in the United States.”
“Fox News has learned that one group of Israelis, spotted in North Carolina recently, is suspected of keeping an apartment in California to spy on a group of Arabs who the United States is also investigating for links to terrorism. Numerous classified documents obtained by Fox News indicate that even prior to Sept. 11, as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or arrested in a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected espionage by Israelis in the United States.” – Carl Cameron investigated Israeli Spy Rings in the USA.
A German newspaper Die Zeit also reported on the Israeli spy ring that was following a number of the 9.11 hijackers around the USA. They also claim that the Mossad spy ring informed the USA about the terrorists and the planned attacks but that the warnings were ignored.
“According to a report of the French intelligence agency that Die Zeit examined, “according to the FBI, Arab terrorists and suspected terror cells lived in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as in Miami and Hollywood, Florida from December 2000 to April 2001 in direct proximity to the Israeli spy cells.”
“According to the report, the Mossad agents were interested in the leader of the terrorists, Mohammed Atta and his key accomplice, Marwan al-Shehi. Both lived in Hamburg before they settled in Hollywood, Florida in order to plan the attacks. A Mossad team was also operating in the same town. The leader, Hanan Serfati, had rented several dwellings. “One of Serfati’s apartments was located on the corner of 701st St. and 21st Ave. [sic] in Hollywood, right near the apartment of Atta and al-Shehi.”, French intelligence reported later. Everything indicates that the terrorists were constantly observed by the Israelis. The chief Israeli agent was staying right near the post office where the terrorists had a mailbox. The Mossad also had its sights on Atta’s accomplice Khalid al-Midhar, with whom the CIA was also familiar, but allowed to run free. The Mossad apparently warned their American counterparts several times about the terrorists, especially about al-Midhar. The American government later admitted that they had received such warnings prior to September 11.” – Die Zeit, October 14th 2002
So not only did the Americans and Israeli’s know about the 9.11 hijackers whereabouts but they were being closely monitored. One only has to read up on the ABLE Danger program to realise how much foreknowledge the US government had about the terror plot which makes one wonder with all this information why it wasn’t stopped before hand.
The 9.11 attacks relied on so much co-incidence and luck that I call it the biggest co-incidence theory in world history.
Not only were the hijackers lucky to take over four planes with rudimentary weapons but they managed to get on the flights even though many were known to the authorities. They also managed to expertly fly these huge planes perfectly into their targets, even supposedly managing to break known laws of physics by getting a Boeing 757 to fly 400mph a few feet from the ground without crashing first into the first floor of the Pentagon.
They also were so lucky that previously whenever a weak nose of a plane has hit a re-inforced concrete wall the plane has crumbled into dust and the wall remained. However on this day not only did they manage to make a plane punch through 3 re-enforced concrete walls at the Pentagon but they managed to carry out expert manoeuvres that even expert pilots claim couldn’t be made.
That’s not even mentioning the fact that they were lucky enough to carry out their attacks on a day that NORAD was carrying out pretend hijacking exercises which confused air traffic control and prevented planes being flown to stop the hijacked planes. Not only that but they were lucky enough to cause 3 high towered sky scrapers to explode into dust by only hitting two of their targets.
Therefore the hijackers were very, very lucky that they managed to have everything go their way on 9.11!
So it seems the west has been in close links with al-Qaeda all the way up to 9.11, but what about after? Haven’t we been fighting them in Afghanistan and Iraq for the past 10 years?
Well supposedly, but a news story by Tony Capaccio from Bloomberg News refers to a report to Congress by the Special Inspector for Afghan Reconstruction John Sopko. This report revealed that Sopko asked the US Army Suspension and Disbarment office to cancel 43 contracts to known Al Qaeda and Taliban supporters. They refused. The reason? The Suspension and Disbarment Office claims it would violate Al Qaeda and Taliban “due process rights.”
It seems President Obama is ignoring the law – again – and has decided to fund al-Qaeda linked rebels such as the al-Nusra Front who are busy cutting people’s heads off, stoning woman and massacring whole villages.
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, sources familiar with the matter said.
Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the rebels oust Assad. – Reuters 2012
These rebels are of a similar ilk to those we supported in the other throw of Col. Gaddafi. These rebels are still in control of large quantities of NATO supplied weapons paid for by western tax payers. The leaders of the mish mash of rebel groups in control of Libya now are busy fighting each other, locking up and executing people with dark skin and implementing Sharia law where they can. We really helped to modernise Libya with that bold move and it’s not as if they are even that grateful.
We have had British World War cemeteries destroyed by Islamic fundamentalists and the US ambassador Chris Stevens was murdered in an attack by jihadists not long back.

Even the rebels at the time admitted they were being supported by al-Qaeda and had no problem with their brand of extremism
The Daily Telegraph ran a recent story in which an interview with the leader of the rebel army we are supporting in Libya‘s civil war admitted that he had recruited al-Qaeda fighters and called them not terrorists but good Muslims.
Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.
Al-Qaeda’s own leaders even released statements in support of the rebels and also called for the other throw of Gaddafi who they felt was an obstacle to their ideal Islamic Caliphate.
It seems after Libya the rebels have flocked to Syria and whilst we debate arming these jihadists they are busy killing Christians, eating lungs and hearts on film and beheading everyone they can get their hands on.
And this isn’t the only massacre carried out by the anti-Assad forces we are so keen to back at any cost.
Earlier this year another massacre was filmed and showed Rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters capture a policeman who the FSA allege is a “Shabiha” or pro-regime militiaman, on July 31, 2012, as the rebels overran a police station in Aleppo.
The footage shows several bloodied men stripped down to their underwear being forced to kneel by a wall amidst a throng of excited, machine gun-touting men.
Once their captors open fire, the camera jerks away as the crowd momentarily disperses, seemingly unprepared for the nearly 40 seconds of uninterrupted shooting that follows. As the gunfire dies down, shouts of “Allahu Akbar!” resound as the once skittish onlookers victoriously raise their guns in the air, approaching what appears to be a pile of stripped-down corpses.
One of the victims has been identified as Ali Zein Al-Abidin Al-barri; the rebels accused him and his family of killing 15 FSA soldiers during a truce in Aleppo.
The rebels are certainly not afraid of using terrorism as a tactic in Syria. Not only have they massacred whole villages but they are not afraid of using huge Iraqi style car bombs to kill as many innocent people as possible.
Earlier this year the Free Syrian Army (supposedly moderate when compared to al-Nusra Front) admitted carrying out a car bombing attack in Damascus which killed the president’s defence minister, brother-in-law and the head of his crisis team whilst meeting at the national security headquarters.
“The president’s defence minister, brother-in-law and head of his crisis team were at a meeting at national security headquarters in Damascus…”
“The rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) and a jihadist group calling itself Lord of the Martyrs Brigade both said they were behind the security headquarters bombing.”
“Security sources say the suspected bomber worked as a bodyguard for members of President Bashar al-Assad’s inner circle.”
As I have written on many occasions since we started our latest round of wars in the Middle East it seems very strange that we declare al-Qaeda to be our mortal enemy and spill our own soldiers blood and guts fighting them in certain parts of the world yet fund and arm them in countries we want to other throw such as Libya and Syria.
Not only are we basically supporting our own enemy because of “realpolitik” but it seems we have no moral line in the sand at all.
How can we declare al-Qaeda to be such an evil, all-powerful terrorist group, one in which we must lay down our civil liberties by the bucket load to defeat on one hand and yet support them and their offshoots on the other because they are fighting another one of our enemies?
It really does seem that the saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend in this case and history shows that al-Qaeda is a lot more than just our enemy. In fact from the very beginning it seems they were created as our own group of Jihadists to be let off the leash whenever we want to de-stabilise an area or cause panic at home.
Want to implement a new liberty destroying law such as the PATRIOT ACT or the NDAA, then let’s get one of our patsies to get on a plane with a bomb in his pants. Oh he’s on a no-fly list, don’t worry we will just usher him through passport control and give him entry to the USA so that we can arrest him in a blaze of glory and scare everyone witless during Christmas.
It is very clear our political leaders have the moral backbone of jellyfish and their duplicity is beyond comprehension.
It should also be noted that the use of Chemical weapons was the “red line” Obama was willing to engage in the Syrian conflict if crossed. The problem seems to be that the line was crossed by our own side not President Assad.
So lets all be clear here as I summarise the points.
al-Qaeda was created by the CIA to fight the USSR in Afghanistan.
After the war we used al-Qaeda to fight the Russians in Chechnya and the Serbs in Kosovo.
British intelligence not only harboured al-Qaeda linked terrorists but funded them to carry out illegal assasination plots in Libya.
The first Interpol warrant issued for bin-Laden was ignored by western intelligence and bin-Laden was allowed to escape.
A well placed whistleblower, ex FBI agent Sibel Edmonds, claims the USA had intimate ties with al-Qaeda and bin-Laden right up to 9.11. Apparently they were used to fight proxy wars and to destabilise areas which the US had an interest in.
Even the 9.11 hijackers were monitored by Mossad spies, the US was warned about their plans, ABLE Danger had identified them but for some reason no action was taken.
9.11 was then used to justify the war on terror which has led to over a decade of war, the massive loss of liberties at home and the rise of the surveillance state. All under the auspices of protecting us from terrorism.
The risk of death from terrorism is minimal. You are 11,000 times more likely to die from a plane crash than you are from a terrorist attack.
Even though we are supposedly fighting al-Qaeda in Afghanistan we are at the same time funding the Taliban through re-construction programs.
We have recently armed and fought alongside al-Qaeda linked rebels to other throw Col. Gaddafi in Libya. Libya is now in a mess and run by Sharia law imposing rebels. Before our intervention Libya was one of the richest, healthiest and educated populations in Africa.
We are now funding and arming Syrian rebels that are linked to al-Qaeda. These rebels have been taped on numerous occasions beheading people, eating the lungs and hearts of victims, executing captured soldiers and massacring whole villages.
Even though President Assad is a dictator during his reign he has modernised the country and Christians and Muslims lived side by side in peace. Now the Islamic fundamentalists are killing Christians, using chemical weapons and imposing Sharia law.
Just like in Libya these terrorists are not likely to hand back any guns, rocket launchers and other weapons we provide them. It is more likely they will be used against Europeans and Americans in terrorist attacks.
It is also likely that any further terrorist attacks will be used to impose more draconian police state laws and Internet surveillance.

Whilst we are busing arming and funding Syrian rebels who behead and eat the hearts of Syrian soliders It seems that the same Islamic fundemenalists who we are supposedly helping have no qualms about killing the soldiers who have helped them on many occassion. It seems clear to me which side they are really on – NOT OURS!
Therefore it makes it all the more stranger that we are constantly talking about intervening in countries like Syria. Are we forgetting there is a large Christian and non Islamic community who will undoubtably suffer if we let Islamic nutters take over the country with weapons supplied by us?
However if they are sick to death, like many westerners, of this constant war of terror then they have clearly brought it back to our streets so we can feel the effects of it.
Our actions have consequences and by supporting governments who bomb, kill and maim civilians from drones is only going to cause more incidences like this one. Votes count – make sure yours does and remember that a strong army to “defend” the country is not the same as a strong army to “attack” other countries.
Our main problem is we have no actual point of reference when it comes to who we fight and who we support. It is like our leaders toss a coin to decide whether the Islamic fighters in country A are worth supporting whilst those in country B deserve a few bombs dropped on them.
We fight al-Qaeda linked Muslims in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Iraq and back al-Qaeda in Libya and Syria.
Israel is even bandaging up the wounded “enemies” of Syria (who we are also supposed to believe are the enemies of Israel) up and send them back to fight from special front line hospitals.
All the while we shoot, bomb and fire £400,000 missiles into mud huts in other Islamic countries.
How many weddings and funerals is it now that we’ve accidentally blown up because we mistook the crowd for terrorists? Did we even check the bodies to see if we got the target right? I doubt it.
It makes me think we are trying to extend this never ending war on terror for as long as possible. It would certainly make companies like Halliburton, Xe and the military industrial complex happy as they would have a perfect replacement for the Cold War enemies of years gone by to milk our government and tax payers for weapons, re-construction and security.
This clash of civilisations was predicted way back in the 80’s to justify western liberal cohesion by creating an enemy that we would all get together to fight just as we saw the Soviets as that evil empire in the 20th century Islam is their replacement in the 21st.
It just so happens that we helped this enemy rise to prominence by arming them to fight left wing forces in moderate Muslim countries and used them to fight proxy wars against the Soviets as in Afghanistan.
I have to wonder how long this war on terror is supposed to go on for?
Just enough so that we lose all our liberties at home? You know the ones that those terrorists hate us for (as we were told by George W Bush many years back) just so we can throw them away and save our enemies the trouble of taking them from us.
Or is it just long enough until we are really ready to fight China for the few remaining natural resources that there will be in a decade or so?
Maybe it is both but whatever the reason there are plenty of reasons for many Muslim people around the world to be angry at the axis of war and our hypocritical foreign policy of both fighting and arming the same kind of Islamic fundamentalists that chopped this UK soldier up in front of a school.
Whether it is a right wing nationalist dictator or groups of people who are enemies and on banned organisation lists one minute and then taken off to become our armed terrorist friends the next.
And lets not forget that dozens of inmates in Gitmo who were set for release multiple years ago are still on hunger strike because of the refusal of the US government to set them free.
If they have no control over their own lives at least they can control their own death – or so they thought until the US military started force feeding them.
Some would call that torture? Does it matter what we call it, we have already crossed the Rubicon on that one a long time ago.
So whilst this attack is abhorrent and disgusting in every way. It is no different from the videos and pictures we saw the other week of a Syrian rebel cutting open the body of a Syrian soldier and eating his lungs and heart on tape.

It seems yet again that the blow-back I talked about in my last piece on the Syrian war: “Here we go again more propaganda and lies” is already coming home to bite us squarely in the arse.
No-one in my country wants Sharia law apart from a few Muslim hardliners and to them I say very loudly “Sod off back to Saudi Arabia where you can enjoy getting your hands cut off for thieving a loaf of bread instead of a slap on the wrist by our liberal western courts”.
I don’t want any English women to wear Burkas. Not only is it misogynist and a blatant sign of cultural ideas trumping scripture because men want to rule the roost, but I want to enjoy the sun, the short skirts and the nightclubs if I can thank you very much! If I didn’t I would move to an Islamic country.
However due to Labours policy of letting anyone and everyone into our country over their years in power including so many terrorists that the USA and Russia labelled LONDON, Londonistan. We are now full of terrorists we cannot deport because they would be tortured in their home country for their crimes.
We are also full to the brim of people who don’t want to assimilate, feel like we all hate them when they pick up the daily papers, and now there are more than a few thousand young unemployed Muslim men who hate our way our life and “western decadence” and don’t feel English in anyway.
Therefore when they see people from their own countries, people they feel connected to through religious and cultural ties, bombed and murdered by western made munitions and western troops they are going to re-act.
Wouldn’t you if you lived in Pakistan and saw Pakistanis bombing and killing Americans or Britains?
Of course there is no rational explanation for what these dogs did to one of our soldiers but there is an easy fix.
Get the fuck out of business that shouldn’t involve us and let people who want to otherthrow their government do it by themselves. Leave the geo-political chess games alone and do the main function of government and defend our borders NOT attack other countries.
We had no right to go to war in Iraq and now up to a million civilians have died because of it.
We had no right to side with the Benghazi rebels in what was a blatant tribal war and now we have turned a relativley prosperous and healthy and educated populus into one ruled by rebel gangs and western armed ex terrorists.
The same has to be said of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen as we drop bombs on villages from drones controlled from thouands of miles away. We use a generation of soldiers grown up on Playstations to fly drones with controllers modelled on the same computers and we don’t even bother to count the bodies as we fly off to our next target.
I wonder how many relatives of the dead innocent victims of these attacks have promised vengeance on US or UK soldiers at their funerals?
If there are terrorists who have actually committed crimes (not just spouted off on the Internet) then we should send in special forces, extract them and try them in a court of law. We should be showing the world we are better than them NOT the same as them. What ever happened to “leading by example” and having a belief in “moral superiority”.
By dropping bombs from drones on poor peoples homes from a far and not even knowing if we killed a true terrorist of just a whole innocent family trying to survive on less than $1 a day we are letting the world see our callousness.
There is a reason I call the west “the axis the war” e.g. USA/UK/France, and it was no surprise that at the time of the attack in Woolwich our heroic PM, “Call me Dave” Cameron, was with French President François Hollande discussing arming the same sorts of people who just cut our own soldiers hearts out in but in Syria.
Are we fucking stupid? It would seem so to me.
These Islamic rebels who want to impose Sharia law wherever they go haven’t thanked us for Libya and they surely won’t thank us for Syria if we end up supporting and arming them.
History is full of our hypocrisy over al-Qaeda and long ago we even helped the al-Qaeda linked KLA in their battle with Serbia. What does that tell you apart from the fact that we have no ethical line in the sand when it comes to war and selling arms to whoever we can is more important than an ethical foreign policy.
If “call me Dave” had any sense he would have said in his COBRA meeting today that we should pull out of the Stan ASAP and start a peace process in Syria NOT throw more coal into the fire.
However I doubt that thought was even mentioned by anyone sitting round the table. What I can presume is that more liberty destroying measures were discussed such as real time monitoring of social media, ID cards, profiling Muslims and throwing other liberties away. All things that we should be more scared of losing than the rare occurrence of a terrorist attack on our streets.
He is also the reason the Stan produces the most smack in the world at the moment.
Why? All because the USA wanted to draw the Soviets into their own Vietnam. He succeeded and the hero of the war, a certain Mr bin-Laden soon became the biggest bogey man in the world.
Morals, ethics, don’t make me laugh.

I suppose they are hoping that if Syria retaliate, either itself or by proxy i.e Hezbollah, that the US will ramp up it’s already fast paced move towards arming the Syrian rebels and join in any killing games that seemed to have been planned for the region.
The people are no better off than they were under Gaddafi and they most certainly have no love for us even though we armed and backed them in their cause.
Have we learned nothing or is the actual idea to really destabilise the region by arming Islamic fascists with high-tech weaponry so that the blow back can drift our way once again?
When the Free Syrian Army is such a mismatch of various secular and religious groups with just a smattering of al-Qaeda, are we really wise to be sending heavy arms and training to them when we don’t know what they will do with it once any civil war is over.
This is something I doubt the Russian’s will go for seeing that they feel tricked after the last UN resolution they fell for. They backed a no fly zone over Libya to protect civilians and then the axis of war turned it into a “no limits” full-out armed assault on Gaddafi’s troops.
We took sides in a civil war we had no right to be in when we were just supposed to be protecting civilians from being attacked from the air – from both sides.
The same is happening in Syria.
We know Libya, Saudi Arabia and the Qataris are sending rebel fighters to Syria and they are being covertly backed and supported by Israel, Turkey and through them the USA, UK and France.
However despite evidence to the contrary the USA is keen to pin the blame on Assad for any use of biological or non conventional weapons.
Ms Del Ponte, a former Swiss attorney-general and prosecutor with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia said on Swiss TV that there was “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof” that the rebels had used the nerve gas Sarin – a favourite of home-grown terrorists.
Sarin is a colourless, odourless liquid or gas which can cause respiratory arrest and death and is therefore classed as a weapon of mass destruction and is banned under international law. This undoubtedly means that the USA, Russia, China and most other countries have huge hidden stockpiles, for research and defensive purposes of course….
However it seems that the axis of war is keen to pin any blame for the use of chemical weapons on the Assad regime even if the finger is pointing the other way. Remember evidence only matters when it backs up the pre-written script we are all supposed to follow.
The matter is complicated even more by earlier reports from hacked emails, from the defense contractor Britam, that the US has already discussed the use of a false flag chemical attack in Syria.
This attack would then be pinned on government fighters and provide the perfect excuse to escalate the war and allow US troops to enter Syria with “public” backing.

We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have.
They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.

The fact that the plan involves delivering a CW (chemical weapon) that is “similar to those Assad should have,” clearly suggests that the idea is to stage a false flag chemical weapons attack that could be blamed on Assad by Gulf states like Qatar and NATO powers.
If reports of a chemical attack are true and the US is refusing to even consider that the rebels could have been involved then it would seem that this earlier false flag plan is already on the way to being rolled out.
Therefore our current batch of leaders are not opposed to such devious and underhand tactics so don’t be surprised to learn they are a common tool to start wars all the way though history from the gates of Rome to the Gulf of Tonkin.
So whilst Israel lobs missiles into Syria, Turkey allows rebels to cross their border for protection and the Sunni regimes in Saudi Arabia and Qatar finance the operation we are just sitting on the side lines awaiting the “right incident” that can be used as propaganda to draw our own forces into war.
Why not send our own sons and daughters into the desert once again to fight President Assad’s regime, once he goes it makes it so much easier to attack Iran from all sides.
We were lied into a war with Iraq and we have had attempts to lie us into a war with Iran.
Not only is the nuclear issue being falsely cranked up whilst the NPT compliant Iran hasn’t even broken any international rules yet but the driver of war Israel, sits upon a massive pile of unregulated nukes and outside the NPT. Who are they to say who can have nukes?
Therefore let the propaganda begin, the lies start spinning and get ready to see more sons and daughters who have no fight in this civil war die for another countries geo-political ambitions.

Are we drumming up a false threat of war with North Korea

As this video shows, this is how the “establishment media” sells wars to the populace by fear mongering and leaving out parts of statements by the “enemy” that would provide context to otherwise threatening language.
Tonight the BBC showed a controversial Panorama programme in which the BBC tricked the London School of Economicsinto allowing their film crew to hop along with a trip of students to the country.
Three journalists accompanied 10 London School of Economics students and spent eight days in the country.
The university and its students‘ union have demanded the corporation withdraw the programme
But BBC head of news programmes Ceri Thomas said the North Korean government was the only party the corporation had deceived.

To be fair, the North Korean state is a Stalinist, Nationalist dictatorship in which rule passes down a family line and the new young ruler is most likely showing strength and acting out to secure his position internally.
However despite the rhetoric and the fact that his armed forces are a million strong they are armed with antiquated weaponry, old Russian tanks and rifles and their nuclear bombs are most likely stolen or bought from the black market.
It is true that the North Korean regime is a horrible communist nightmare in which hundreds of thousands of people are locked up in gulags and camps. The people have suffered multiple famines in which grass became the main available food for the “workers” whilst the ruling family and generals most likely ate like kings.
As George Orwell said in Animal Farm, some animals are more equal than others and I suspect that is undoubtedly the case in North Korea right now.
However despite all this the two Korea‘s are still technically at war. No peace treaty has ever been signed between the North and South since the war ended in the 50’s and therefore the two countries are still on a war footing.
The USA is committed to backing up the South and China the North, therefore any miscalculation by the Koreans or American’s could easily lead to an outbreak of war. It would be foolish if we allowed this to happen because of propaganda and lies.
We have to realise that North Korea is not stupid.
They saw what happened to Iraq and Libya when they gave up their WMD’s. To them, a nuclear weapon is the ultimate guarantee of safety from attack. This is probably the same thinking that the Iranians have.
They have explicitly said this time after time and if anything their ratcheting up of war talk is aimed at getting peace talks started again.
However it is not North Korea preventing a peace treaty between all sides from occurring but the pre-conditions set by the Americans that the North give up all their nuclear ambitions that is stopping a peace treaty from being signed.
Who is the USA, the only country to have used a nuclear bomb in anger, to decide who is and who isn’t allowed nuclear weapons?
When we have countries like Israel who are stocked to the teeth with nuclear weaponry being allowed to continue their nuclear ambitions whilst talking about attacking Iran for even thinking about having their own. It is no wonder that North Korea is not willing to give up the ultimate deterrent.
When we are not even willing to budge on our own nuclear capability and allow our friends to own nuclear weapons whilst declaring our enemies ambitions off limits it is no wonder that a large part of the world see’s this hypocrisy and then calculates that only by having nuclear bombs will it prevent an attack by the axis of war i.e US/UK/France.
North Korea is not a pleasant place to live and their rulers are despots. However the way to overcome this is by signing a peace treaty, allowing open borders and people from both sides of Korea to cross the border and see that they are not so different after all.
Once North Korea can stop diverting all it’s money from it’s armed forces to actually modernising it’s country then things might change.
However it seems we are once again stuck in the 80’s. Trying to defeat a communist regime by bankrupting and starving them to submission by forcing them to spend money they don’t have on defensive measures because they are rightly paranoid of attack.
It may have worked with the USSR but North Korea has held on much longer and seems willing to let their citizens resort to eating grass or cannibalism so that it’s few resources can be spent maintaining ancient weaponry that would be wiped out immediately if any war started.
Lets just hope people our side of the divide are not fooled into war once again like we were with Iraq and Libya.
The neo-cons are probably flipping coins at the moment deciding whether to attack Iran or North Korea and propaganda like the sort we are constantly being fed at the moment about North Korea threatening to nuke us without giving us the full context is not helping at all.
Remember – find the facts out for yourself and don’t rely on the mainstream media for your nightly statements of fear.

Well the crazies who didn’t bother to read the Mayan prophecy before declaring 2012 the end of the world were proved wrong.
However 2012 was certainly no reprieve from looming disasters that we seem to lurch drunkenly from like a Glaswegian drunk on Hogmanay. It has been an unmitigated disaster from all corners of perspective and from my own view point it doesn’t seem to be getting better any time soon.
So if last year was Time magazines year of the protester what was 2012?
It was firstly the year that the Arab Spring turned into an Islamic winter.
From the dictator swap in Egypt from Mubarak to Mohamed Morsi to the Syrian civil war that see’s the western backed Islamic rebels murder and massacre Christians and Muslims alike it seems that “the Western axis of war” hasn’t learnt from their mistakes in Libya and are still trying to impose democracy (whatever that is) by the gun and the bomb.
It seems that we have learnt nothing and are still backing the enemy of our enemy, even if that means supporting Islamic extremists linked to terrorists and our supposed mortal enemy al-Qaeda.
Syria is being torn apart by Western and Saudi backed rebel groups as extreme as any dictator we might be justified in other-throwing.
Even though Saddam Hussein, Col Qaddafi, Mubarak and Assad were or in the case of President Assad, still nasty dictators The people of their countries were not worrying daily about car bombs or NATO planes blowing their houses to bits. Christians lived alongide Muslims and Sunnis lived alongside Shiites in peace.
They may have had to keep their mouth shut when it came to politics but in the case of Libya they had high standards of living and life expectancy in comparison to their neighbours plus they were doing well economically even if they were not “free” as they now supposedly are.
The head of the Muslim Brotherhood, a Western intelligence linked group, that took power in an election before granting himself dictatorial like powers that liberal minded Egyptians are outraged about.
There has been no slowing down of the torture, imprisonment without trial and police brutality that occurs almost nightly as Tahrir square once again becomes the focus of change versus the establishment. The only difference is that this is now an Islamic establishment and one that I suspect the West has been wanting to be implanted for years.
From Afghanistan to the United States we have seen tensions between the two religions of “the book”. Both offshoots of the first books of the Bible and both linked by history and commonly shared religious beliefs.
As western backed Syrian rebels ransack Christian Churches and Christian ministers burn Korans, the fires that are slowly burning away underneath a groundswell of anti-immigration furor in Europe are gently being stoked until the general population are ready for all out war. The next big war is coming – how bad it will be is up to us.
Apart from the upcoming battles that will thin the herd we have spent the year watching people hand over their privacy as if it was an antiquated concept in return for gadgets, applications and the latest phone or computer tablet.
We have people selling their private information to these corporations just so that they can watch their own house or car on Google maps or tell the world of Twitter users what they had for breakfast that morning.
In 50 years George Orwell’s 1984 nightmare of a state camera in every room of your house will be an old fashioned concept.
The NDAA allows the President to lock up Americans for eternity without trial on his say so alone. If he wanted to he could even have you killed as he has already shown with the assassination of American born Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen by a done strike.
This is only an extension of the emergency act implemented after 9.11 and still exist to this day – something most American’s know nothing about and literally give the President the power to do what he wants to defend the country.
Whether that means grope or virtual strip machines at airports, bombing Afghan and Pakistani weddings or just starting wars without the consent of Congress as he did in Libya. He has more powers than previous Presidents and all because of the events of 9.11 and the endless war on terror we are still feeling the effects of 11 years on.
A case can be made that the right wing in America have it totally wrong when they call Obama a communist but in reality he is more of a dictator who has continued the George W Bush’s policy of stripping American citizens of their liberties with laws like the PATRIOT ACT and he has taken them a whole mile further down the road to dictatorship with laws like the NDAA.
The only socialism on show at the moment is the one in which banksters take hard earned tax dollars from the public as state handouts to be used to make even more money in the rigged game that is Wall St through front running and high frequency trading.
As Europe teeters on the brink of self-collapse and America countries printing it’s way to self destruction the BRIC countries are growing in strength.
China is collecting gold bars at the same rate their slave workers throw themselves off the US corporation balconies that were offshored. Workers working for companies that make their goods overseas, pay hardly any tax and care not a jot for the quality of life that the makers of their products have to endure.
So when you next open your iPhone to send a Tweet about how your Facebook profile has been updated just remember that some poor soul in China has worked 18 hour days for a pittance just so that you can throw your privacy away to companies that are in cahoots with America’s new global surveillance society and that your email, contact info and other personal information is just another commodity to be sold and re-sold by these companies.
Just don’t scratch your head when your inbox fills up with spam or every web page you seem to visit seems to show adverts targeted especially for you.
What can we hope for 2013 then?
Well the end of the world isn’t being booked for this year as the Mayans don’t have anything planned so far.
Therefore if the world does end it will be of our own making. We are already being cajoled into believing Iran is on the brink of nuking us all despite any evidence from the IAEA and it is only Israeli pressure on the US congressmen they own and the blackmail they have probably collated on the President that will force any pointless war.
It might be all the assassinations and military base attacks by US/Israeli backed terrorist groups (or freedom fighters in this case) that has changed Iran’s mind.
Or it might be the first cyber warfare weapon STUXNET that changed it by almost destroying their nuclear program through multiple zero day exploits only a nation state would have the manpower and knowledge to use.
Or it might just be the fact that Iran wasn’t making a bomb in the first place – it is un-Islamic after all.
On the one hand Iran is called a fanatical Islamic state but when it comes to the part of Islam that says nuclear weaponry is against God’s will then that seems to get overlooked.
However what cannot be overlooked is the total hypocrisy of an apartheid state like Israel, a country that unlike Iran isn’t a member of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Agency but still has 200+ nuclear bombs calling Iran a threat for “maybe” thinking about building one without proof.
This is after all a country that only recently assassinated the Hamas military commander who had brokered a cease fire that stopped Hamasfiring rockets into Israel and then sat back as Hamas fell into their trap firing hundreds of firecracker rockets into Israel.
Some of these were long range ones that got lucky almost reaching Tel Aviv, others were not so lucky and almost hit their fellow Palestinians in the West Bank.
However this battle was once again one sided and whilst the world waited for Israel to once again enter Gaza and massacre over a thousand innocent people as they did in Operation Cast Leadthey instead blew up children playing football and attacked journalists from the air in a short but powerful onslaught that stopped short before any Israeli troops entered Gaza city.
Therefore if we are to see the next year out without another middle eastern war it is only going to be if someone reigns in the Likud war party and brokers some kind of peace deal in the Middle East.
This bleeding sore on the face of the world has been leaking for too long and the longer it goes on the more chance there is of a catastrophe occurring.
The more Middle Eastern states that turn from their ex Western backed dictators to new Islamic governments the more chance we have of the perfect trigger to start the culture war that ne-cons and ex cold war warriors have been planning for decades.
9.11 did the job of getting America fighting Muslims on Israels terms, and with their dumbed down public they don’t even realise that 92% of Afghans have never even heard of this event they are supposed to be fighting America for. Instead it’s sold to American’s that it’s all because they “hate our freedoms” of course!
Add to that pertinent point that America has thrown away most of their freedoms anyway and the people the US are fighting in the Stan are just Taliban/civilians who see the US/UK soldiers as just another group of invaders they have been putting up with for centuries. It seems that they don’t actually have much left to do to “win the war” by defeating all that American freedom they hate so much.
Plus seeing that there is hardly any “real” al-Qaeda in Afghanistan anymore.
A new video released by Syrian rebels fighting President Assad in Syria apparently showing them shooting captured troops loyal to President Assad has not been mentioned in the western media but the western TV stations love to parrot the line whenever the shoe is on the other foot.
You can find some of the video on the Guardian one of the few papers that has some modicum of balance even though it is definitely not independent in any way it is mostly anti-war in its articles.

Not exactly singing the same sort of tune as the “town about to be massacred” and “Assad troops massacre civilians and rebels” etc that has been covering the media over the weeks including by the same Guardian paper trying to give some form of balance however small to both sides of this civil war in Syria.
You can find more balanced views (in that I mean a view opposing the western one so that you can make your own mind up) on rt.com or Russia Today. Yes the same international TV station that is attacked by Hillary Clinton, Western news pundits and others for its “pro-Kremlin” views, a KGB front and so on.
This article has more than a slightly different slant on matters than the Guardian one which goes to show how one journalist’s writing can turn A into B and people who only read from one news source will undoubtedly get a skewed outlook on matters.
Now I would never advise anyone to get their news only from one source but you should never, never just believe what you are told by the Western media who are mostly owned and controlled by the same few rich families and organisations. Editorial control they call it, a reason given by Julian Assange when he fell out with the Guardian when they refused to show certain documents, videos from his #cablegate release. The same one that might see him end up in an orange jumpsuit in the USA.
Why the Swedish police cannot just interview him over the phone or in the Ecuadorian embassy I don’t know! But he hasn’t even been charged with a crime.
Supposedly they only want to talk to him about about certain crimes that can only be described as “unusual” and involve two girls who were WikiLeak “fans” or “benefactors” who obviously had a crush on him having sex with him on consecutive nights.
They found out about the other girl and as some may say – “Hell has no fury like a woman scorned” they both went to the police and accused Julian of having sex with him without wearing a condom! Now I don’t know how this is a crime as they obviously let him do it otherwise it would be rape or sexual assault but nonetheless the Swedes want him in their country for interviewing.
At the moment he is in the Ecuadorian embassy in Londonwaiting for the Ecuadorian’s to make their mind up about asylum whilst I guess the Americans threaten that country with everything under the sun but it all seems like madness to me. If you could be arrested and locked up for having sex without a condom then how many men out there would be in prison right now?
Anyway back to the point – get your news from opposing points of view and then make your own mind up.
Do not believe everything your told whatever channel it comes from!
Russia Today may be the spawn of the KGB and Kremlin propaganda in some peoples eyes but it most definitely gives a voice to those people the western media overlook. Remember this is the channel that gave Julian Assange his own “The World Tomorrow” interview show to talk to people the western news channels wouldn’t dare interview.
If I want news or details of political crimes and Russian mafia like governance then I wouldn’t expect Russia Today to give it to me and in the same way you shouldn’t expect your own countries news channels to attack their own country in the same way.
However Russia Today allows rebels, dissidents, people considered “unpatriotic” and all the other bullshit names FOX and other channels throw about in the USA to appear on their channels frequently. Everybody from members of Anonymous, WikiLeaks to Alex Jones, Glenn Greenwald and Norman Finkelstein at the very least. People the western shows stay away from like a turd on a stick.
So when you hear about Assad and the next town about to be massacred just remember that war crimes are being committed and admitted by the UN Human Rights council by both sides in this civil war.

Just remember what happened when the CIA helped create al-Qaeda in their fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Blowback and bombings and then 9.11.
Syria and Libya are a lot closer to home than “the Stan” and before “our help” their leaders, as crazy and despotic as they may seem to us, were also were a lot nicer than our “ally” Saudi Arabia a medieval country run under ancient barbaric laws with no respect for human rights and women.
If foreign policy was logical this would have been the target of any post-9.11 attack due to the number of hijackers that were Saudi Arabian and all the funding of terror groups it does regularly – but then they supply us oil and Bush’s family have a “close” relationship with the House of Saud.
M16 was involved in the rendetion and torture of one of the top leaders in the new Libyan terrorist government that NATO helped to install.
Abdel Hakim Belhaj, a confirmed Libyan jihadist with links to al-Qaeda and who is currently a top military commander in the new Libyan government is suing both the MI6 and the British government, accusing them of complicity in his illegal rendition and alleged torture at their behest.
For those people who haven’t heard of the type of people who we as “humanitarians” helped other-throw Gaddafi for. Abdel Hakim Belhaj is the founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).
After the Taliban took power in Kabul in 1996, the LIFG kept two training camps in Afghanistan; one of them, 30 kilometers north of Kabul – run by Abu Yahya – which was strictly for al-Qaeda-linked jihadis.
After 9/11, Abdel Belhaj moved to Pakistan and also to Iraq, where he befriended none other than hardcore terrorist and al-Qaeda beheading expert in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Then in 2003 Abdel Belhaj was arrested and taken extraordinary rendition-style, to a secret Bangkok prison, and duly tortured by the Americans.
Then in In 2004, the USA decided to send him as a gift to Libyan intelligence until he was freed by Saif Islam al-Gaddafi in March of 2010, along with other 211 terrorists.
Before being set free Abdel Belhaj and the other terrorists had to sign a 417-page confession in which they declared the jihad against Gaddafi illegal and finally over. Then I guess he just melted away until he became useful again to the globalists when they decided to other-throw the once foe, then friend again Col Gaddafi.
So as the BBC is now finally reporting only many months later than the alternative media #altnews, this rebel leader is now suing us for our actions before he became our ally and the top commander of our now free and liberal Libya.
A kind and loving place where women can walk with their heads held high without fear of rape, and all men are treated equal whether they be homosexual, Christian or Jew.
A place where our western human rights have been imported and taken on-board wholeheartedly, and a place any European or American would now willingly love to holiday to or maybe relocate for life – of course I kid. The place is a mess (we created) full of tribal infighting and hate seen only a few weeks ago when a World War II cemetery was destroyed by Libyan rebels.
Gaddafi may have been evil but I guess a lot of these people are just as evil and as Libya is now a tribal mess of revenge, death, rape and summary executions of anyone blacker than light brown.
It seems we have created the potential for more than a little blowback down the years. How that blowback bites us in the ass we shall have to wait and see but the new Libya is already sending fighters to Syria to fight Assad, another al-Qaeda backed war we seem to be on the same side with.

UK government ‘approved Abdel Hakim Belhaj’s rendition’

The UK government approved the 2004 rendition of a terror suspect to the Gaddafi regime, the BBC can reveal.
A letter from an MI6 officer refers to Abdel Hakim Belhaj’s rendition to Libya. It congratulates the Libyans on the “safe arrival” of the “air cargo”.
Mr Belhaj says he was tortured in jail. Successive UK governments have denied complicity in rendition or torture.
But BBC correspondent Peter Taylor says he understands Mr Belhaj’s rendition was given ministerial approval.
However it is not clear at what level of government the decision was authorised.
The letter from the senior MI6 officer, Sir Mark Allen, to Col Gaddafi’s intelligence chief, Musa Kusa, was found last year in the rubble of Musa Kusa‘s headquarters, which were bombed by Nato.
As well as congratulating the Libyans on the arrival of the “cargo”, it points out that “the intelligence was British”.
The letter was sent in 2004 when Mr Belhaj was the leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.
MI5 believed the group was close to al-Qaeda and involved in recruiting young Muslims in Britain to fight in Iraq.
Our correspondent says it appears MI6 had discovered that Mr Belhaj was in Malaysia and about to head for London in the hope of obtaining political asylum.
MI6 informed its foreign intelligence partners, and as a result Mr Belhaj was intercepted in Bangkok, presumably by the CIA, and rendered to Libya.
Our correspondent says the letter suggests MI6 was complicit in Mr Belhaj’s illegal rendition and alleged torture in Libya – but that MI6 was not acting unilaterally.
He says his understanding is that MI6 obtained authorisation from the Labour government of the time for its action.
Jack Straw was the Labour Foreign Secretary in 2004 when the rendition took place. In an interview on BBC Radio 4 last year he said:
“We were opposed to unlawful rendition. We were opposed to any use of torture or similar methods. Not only did we not agree with it, we were not complicit in it and nor did we turn a blind eye to it.”
He added:
“No foreign secretary can know all the details of what its intelligence agencies are doing at any one time.”
His office told the BBC Mr Straw had nothing further to add in the light of the current allegations.
Legal action in UK
Mr Belhaj – now a senior military commander in the new Libya that Britain helped create – is suing MI6 and the British government, accusing them of complicity in his illegal rendition and alleged torture.
He says he believes he was rendered from Bangkok to Libya by the CIA.
The Metropolitan Police is also investigating his allegations.
Mr Belhaj worked with Nato as one of the leaders of the forces that helped overthrow Col Muammar Gaddafi.
But he claims that during his more than four years in prison he was interrogated by agents from countries including the UK and US.
He had been living in exile in Beijing after leading opposition to Col Gaddafi.
In 2010, Prime Minister David Cameron established a Detainee Inquiry into “whether Britain was implicated in the improper treatment of detainees, held by other countries, that may have occurred in the aftermath of 9/11”.
However, the inquiry was mothballed in January 2012 after the Metropolitan Police announced it was investigating Mr Belhaj’s claims.
Justice Secretary Ken Clarke said the government was committed to holding a judge-led inquiry once these were investigated.
