Will anyone bring the War Criminal Tony Blair to justice?

By Dark Politricks

Now the Chilcot report is out, does this mean that the Tory Government have the balls to go and arrest Tony Blair for pushing the illegal Iraq war?

Here was someone who knew that the evidence was false yet still promised George W Bush to be with him whatever, despite the UN and his own legal advisers, saying that the war was illegal.

Just like the many EU referendums before BREXIT, it was “no that’s the wrong answer, go and find the right one”, until a dodgy legal basis was provided to give Blair cover for his actions by Lord Goldsmith. I wonder how and why he got given his title….

I doubt any Tories will do anything to put their establishment buddy Blair’s head in the block as it would mean putting their own heads in as well. Many of them eagerly went along with the falsehood that many in the world knew was a blatant lie.

It does however make sense why the Blairite push for power against their Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was planned just before this week’s revelations. They were hoping to take the sting out of the massive news story it will surely become, their own names off the front pages, and provide a different headline for the newspapers. However we must ensure that #Chilcot stays in the news and social media despite other political manoeuvrings.

If we have to wait for the Blairites to return to the Labour fold and for Corbyn to get elected before seeing Blair in the Hague then we could be waiting a long time. However hopefully a massive class action case by the families of dead UK soldiers, and maybe millions of Iraqi’s hurt by the war, could be formed to take him to civil court instead.

Hopefully they could win and sting Blair with a massive monetary punishment as OJ Simpson was, to take away all the millions he has made since leading the country into Iraq by selling speeches, and pretending to be a “Peace Envoy”. All whilst making money for himself in the Middle East advising dictators and lobbying the UN to vote against Palestinian statehood in 2011 – on the payroll of the Israelis no doubt.

The Palestinians had this to say about Tony Blair:

There is no one within the Palestinian leadership that supports or likes or trusts Tony Blair, particularly because of the very damaging role he played during our UN bid.

He is considered persona non grata in Palestine. Although we can’t prevent him from coming here, we can hopefully minimise the role he can play because he is not a mediator, he is totally biased on one side.

So what were the main findings of the Chilcot report which we have had to wait 7 years for?

  • There was no imminent threat from Saddam Hussein; The strategy of containment could have been adapted and continued for some time; The majority of the Security Council supported continuing UN inspections and monitoring.
  • The UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted. Military action at that time was not a last resort.
  • On 28 July 2002, the then Prime Minister Tony Blair assured US President George W Bush he would be with him “whatever”. But in the letter, he pointed out that a US coalition for military action would need: Progress on the Middle East peace process; UN authority; and a shift in public opinion in the UK, Europe, and among Arab leaders.
  • Judgements about the severity of threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction – known as WMD – were presented with a certainty that was not justified.
  • Intelligence had “not established beyond doubt” that Saddam Hussein had continued to produce chemical and biological weapons.
  • Policy on Iraq was made on the basis of flawed intelligence assessments. It was not challenged, and should have been.
  • The circumstances in which it was decided that there was a legal basis for UK military action were “far from satisfactory”.
  • The invasion began on 20 March 2003 but not until 13 March did then Attorney General Lord Goldsmith advise there was on balance a secure legal basis for military action. Apart from No 10’s response to his letter on 14 March, no formal record was made of that decision and the precise grounds on which it was made remain unclear.
  • The UK’s actions undermined the authority of the United Nations Security Council: The UN’s Charter puts responsibility for the maintenance of peace and security in the Security Council. The UK government was claiming to act on behalf of the international community “to uphold the authority of the Security Council”. But it knew it did not have a majority supporting its actions.
  • In Cabinet, there was little questioning of Lord Goldsmith about his advice and no substantive discussion of the legal issues recorded
  • Between 2003 and 2009, UK forces in Iraq faced gaps in some key capability areas – including armoured vehicles, reconnaissance and intelligence assets and helicopter support.
  • Despite explicit warnings, the consequences of the invasion were underestimated. The planning and preparations for Iraq after Saddam Hussein were “wholly inadequate”.
  • The government failed to achieve the stated objectives it had set itself in Iraq. More than 200 British citizens died as a result of the conflict. Iraqi people suffered greatly. By July 2009, at least 150,000 Iraqis had died, probably many more. More than one million were displaced.
  • The report sets out lessons to be learned: It found Mr Blair overestimated his ability to influence US decisions on Iraq; and the UK’s relationship with the US does not require unconditional support.

So will anyone apart from Jeremy Corbyn whose whole party seems to have deserted him despite having overwhelming support from the Labour membership and Trade Unions do anything about the lies of Tony Blair that led us to war and the creation of ISIS which haunts us all now?

Despite the massacres, huge car bombs killing hundreds almost on a daily basis during the Iraq civil war, journalists getting their heads cut off by ISIS and al-Qaeda and the strengthening of Iran, Tony Blair still thinks he made the right decision. He said this in the report:

Whether people agree or disagree with my decision to take military action against Saddam Hussein; I took it in good faith and in what I believed to be the best interests of the country

So no remorse then for the many people killed and injured from 2003 to this very day, all coming from his decision to back George W Bush who had some narcissistic desire to achieve what his father didn’t in the earlier Gulf War, remove Saddam from power. This was despite any links to 9.11 or any evidence that he posed a threat to the region.

Saddam and RumsfeldThis was a dictator that was supported by the USA during the 80’s in it’s war with Iran, and many in George W Bushes cabinet were players from that era such as Donald Rumsfeld who is seen here having a good time with his favoured dictator of the region.

I have no doubt that the USA believed Saddam still had weapons of mass destruction because they used to sell him so many of them, including the nerve gas which he used against Iranian soldiers and Iraqi rebels. No complaint was made about it at the time of the event but when it came to the standard demonisation of the enemy before a war all this was put into the heads of the public to paint a horrible picture of their ex friend and enabled dictator.

Despite warnings by the CIA that Iraq was using chemical weapons almost daily Donald Rumsfeld who was at the time a successful executive in the pharmaceutical industry, continued to make it possible for Saddam to buy supplies from American firms.

This included biological weapons and viruses such as anthrax and bubonic plague. Also during the time the US was selling Iraq chemical and biological weapons the UK under Maggie Thatcher was selling up to 78 different types of military equipment including Land Rovers, tank recovery vehicles, terrain-following radar and spare tank parts according to released government reports.

Apparently this pleased Maggie very much. She said she was “very pleased” with the “Contracts worth over £150m [that] have been concluded [with Iraq] in the last six months including one for £34m (for armoured recovery vehicles through Jordan),” which was written by a junior minister, Thomas Trenchard, in 1981. This letter also stated that meetings with Saddam Hussein “represent a significant step forward in establishing a working relationship with Iraq which should produce both political and major commercial benefits”.

So not only did the UK and USA help stock up Saddam Hussein with all the WMD they then accused him of having, a very hypocritical move but to be expected by the two major powers in the axis of continual war, but we actually helped him use those weapons on Iranians.

Iran was finally brought to the negotiating table by providing Iraq the location of Iranian troops, as well as the locations of Iranian logistics facilities and details about Iranian air defences once they had learned that Iran was about to gain a major strategic advantage in the 8 year long war.

They were fully aware that Hussein’s military would attack with chemical weapons, including sarin and mustard gas prior to four major offensives in early 1988 that relied on U.S. satellite imagery, maps, and other intelligence.

These attacks helped to tilt the war in Iraq’s favour and bring Iran to the negotiating table, and they ensured that the Reagan administration’s long-standing policy of securing an Iraqi victory would succeed. But they were also the last in a series of chemical strikes stretching back several years that the Reagan administration knew about and didn’t disclose.

So not only were we totally hypocritical when dealing with Saddam helping him use WMD that we sold him in the first place, but we started a war of aggression against his country that was not thought out, had no plans for after the invasion, spilled over into sectarian violence and civil war and the formation of terrorist groups where there were none before.

So how many dead people does Blair and Bush have on their hands from their decision to go to war “on faulty intelligence” or as normal people say “illegally”?

How many dead and injured victims have their been over the last 12+ years and the years prior…

-The US/ UN sanctions on Iraq of the 1990s, which interdicted chlorine for much of that decade and so made water purification impossible were responsible for over half a million deaths, mainly children.
-The Illegal war which Blair promised Bush to support even though Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with it is thought to have killed at least half a million people.
-The depleted uranium weapons used in Fallujah that are still causing babies to be born without legs and arms and horrible birth defects.
-The long civil war came after the fall of Saddam between the Sunnis, Shia’s and Kurds.
-The forming of al-Qaeda in Iraq in 2004 when no al-Qaeda terrorists had existed before.
The forming of ISIS which is now fighting Iraqi, Kurdish, Syrian and Russian soldiers and inspiring terrorist attacks in the west. All whilst we do very little to stop them (and even support them) whilst allowing our ally Turkey to bomb the Kurds instead.
-And that’s not even counting all the dead US/UK soldiers.
-And those who came home with missing limbs from IEDS and PTSD now living in poverty on the streets or in jail.

I wonder what the total death count is, or will ever be……

I also wonder if the world has the strength to punish a war criminal that wasn’t on the losing side for once?

A look at Israel and Zionism and how it effects Palestinians

A look at Israel and Zionism and how it effects Palestinians

By Dark Politricks

This documentary shows you the history of the plight of the Palestinian people since the Zionists took over Judaism and led it down a road of self fulfilling prophecy – e.g the return to the holy land.

This video is a must watch for anyone who considers themselves a “Christian” supporter of Israel.

Remember you don’t have to be Jewish to be a Zionist and you don’t have to be Jewish to be Israeli.

Many Christians support Israel because they foolishly believe that the Jews returning to Israel is a sign that Jesus is about to return. All the while forgetting that this was prophecy not fulfilled by God but through the acts of man and acts that were not ours to commit.

Remember, and you will see many real Jews in this video talking about this. Many real Jews do not believe in the state of Israel as it exists now.

They see it as an affront to God as they were not given the land by God but through the Zionist movement who manipulated world consensus after the 2nd World War, holding the holocaust over the Wests head so that we gave them the right to another people’s land.

Remember this was not a land without people for a people without a land. This was a land full of people that were kicked out, massacred and murdered by the Zionists in their quest for a homeland.

We had no right to give the land of Palestine to the Jews after World War II.

As the film says how would you like it if I turned up at your home with my own holy book and said:

“my holy book says that your home belongs to me – hand it over”?

In fact as the Jewish people were maltreated, discriminated against and even killed throughout western Europe throughout the years the Middle East was one of the few places the Jews had no problem living in.

There used to be very large Jewish communities all over the Middle East from Iran to Iraq to North Africa. There are still large numbers of Jews even in Iran and when the Muslim empire receded in the Middle Ages from Spain the Jewish people left alongside the Muslims as they feared the actions of the Christians a lot more than those the Muslims may commit.

Therefore the Palestinian people are paying for Western guilt over the holocaust and the Zionists have no problem playing the holocaust card whenever possible to use that guilt to their advantage.

No other country since South Africa has lived under such apartheid yet we are not blockading Israel instead we are allowing it to get away with massacres on international waters, the use of chemical weapons in civilian areas, the killing of children and many more crimes that we wouldn’t put up with for a minute if that country didn’t have such strong lobby groups pulling the strings of our politicians.

Anti-Semite, anti-Semite!

They shout as you attack Israel’s foreign policy, forgetting that most Israeli’s are not even Semites and instead immigrants with no link to the land.

It has been admitted by many Israeli politicians and peace activists that this tactic of denouncing anyone who attacks Israel as an anti-Semite is a tool that has been successfully used over the years to squash dissent.

However we are now getting wise to this and can see through their hollow shouts as Palestinians kids throw stones at tanks and Israeli fighter planes paid for by American tax dollars fire missiles into chicken farms, Mosques and homes.

Under international law refugees are supposed to be able to return to their homeland however the Palestinians are stuck in squalid refugee camps as well as open air prisons such as Gaza with no right of return. All the while a convert to Judaism who has no links to the land can go and live in Israel as if they were 1st class citizens and the Palestinians 2nd class.

Just remember, the Zionists don’t respect Christians, they allow themselves to be supported by Christians who don’t realise how their “saviour” Jesus is denigrated and mocked by both religious texts and television shows.

They want our support for their “Greater Israel” and have no qualms about using false flag attacks such as the Lavron Affair or the attack on the USS Liberty to get us to fight for them. Don’t believe me – just check those two historical events out.

Palestine had no choice but to seek UN membership

Palestine had no choice but to seek UN membership

By Dark Politricks

I am glad Palestine got their UN non member status despite threats and sanctions by the US and Israel but it my eyes it was the only thing they could do.

They had run out of options. The Intifada has obviously not worked and although worldwide public opinion had wildly swung behind their cause in recent years due to the Israeli’s blatant disregard of international law and actions that have disgusted people nothing had changed in the Palestinians favour whilst Israel continues it’s breaches of International law unabated.

Actions such as Operation Cast Leadthe ignored Goldstone Reportthe Mavi Marmara assassinations (including of US citizens), the killing of peace demonstrators like Rachel Corrie and the recent attack on the blockaded Gaza.

These are all actions that instead of dividing and conquering, which was the aim when the Mossad set up Hamas to split the Palestinian resistance between Fatah and Hamas, has instead brought them back together over recent conflicts.

Whilst many people after the 2nd World War had sympathy with the Jewish Religion and their persecution that enabled them to enact out a self-fulfilling prophecy that saw Zionism break God’s covenant with real Judaism by using politics, bribery, the Balfour Declaration and the Treaty of Versailles to realise their dream.  A minority were not. Over the years a new generation without first hand knowledge of the World War II has grown up. They see things very differently from their predecessors.

Whilst our parents and grand fathers suffered the horrors of the biggest world wide killing spree ever known, our generation has grown up in peace and we hold people of all countries to the same standard of behaviour including the USA and Israel. We cry out loud when we see hypocrisy at hand.

We were the generation that broke US/UK support for the Apartheid state of South Africa and held Free Nelson Mandela concerts that saw an “ex terrorist” released from a quarter of century in prison to lead his country and change the US/UK stance on the horrible anti black South Africa state. We are all hoping that international condemnation of Israeli actions will do the same for the Palestinian people.

We are the generation that sees the hypocrisy of an International Criminal Court which members like the USA can just “opt out of” because they don’t want their killing squads, torture prisons, extraordinary rendition and drone strikes that kill more civilians than terrorists excused from international sanction whilst demanding it from other countries.

We are the generation that sees the outright double standards of the USA calling out other countries on “human right” abuses whilst they commit the same abuses in the name of “spreading democracy”.

We also realise that the “War on Terror” con has been a way to allow politicians at home to gain dictatorial powers including the power to assassinate at will, spy on their citizens without warrants and use super computers the size of cities to trawl through personal data looking for “signs” of “terrorist activity”. It is clear to us that the war on terror has been a massive fraud that has allowed our leaders to enact draconian policies at home that would otherwise cause outrage as the US constitution is flushed down the toilet.

And when it comes to Israel we are the generation that knows that the country in the desert DID have people living there before the Jews came after the war.

We also know that the IDF was born out of terrorist gangs like the Stern Gang and Irgun. Gangs that killed British soldiers and massacred Palestinians, driving them out their homes and refusing their return. Terrorist gangs that spawned some of the first leaders of Israel as well as the Israeli Defence Forces.

We see the two faced US UN ambassador claim on one hand we must intervene in Syria, Libya and Iran whilst ignoring the blatant massacres and human rights abuses in their allied countries of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and most importantly Israel. We know why they do it and we laugh when they accuse others of allowing crimes against humanity to continue whilst turning a blind eye to their own allies crimes.

Every time the US uses it’s veto in the Security council to prevent sanctions on Israel it dilutes any creditably they have when they attack Russia or China for doing the same with their own allies such as Syria. You cannot have it both ways Uncle Sam!

Now Palestine is a non member status we can expect sanctions, the expansion of illegal settlements and other acts illegal under international law but allowed because of the USA’s backing. Who is pulling the strings Israel or the USA and why does Obama not have the balls to stand up to Israeli behaviour now he doesn’t have to worry about election funding?

Anyone expecting Obama to stand up to AIPAC and the Israeli lobby and demand they move ahead with a proper peace process is likely to be disappointed.

Bibi and co probably have a book a foot wide of indiscretions Obama committed before gaining the highest office in the land and that is probably the reason America always seems to elect drug users, ex alcoholics and sexual deviants as President. They are all easily bribed.

We cannot expect the US to be a fair broker anymore in this age old conflict and despite what Zionists say the Palestinians had no other route to getting some form of resolution to their plight.

They are supposed to be agreeing final borders as defined in the Camp David and Oslo accords but Israel has delivered nothing to them but expanded illegal settlements and a giant wall blocking them from their neighbours as well as the illegal blockade of Gaza.

Likud, the ruling party of Israel is a right wing party that survives only on drumming up the thought of annihilation from non existent threats.

Without the existential threat of Iran being rammed down Israelis throats every day and the tit for tat skirmishes when Israel chose to kill the Hamas leader who brokered a cease fire just so that Hamas would retaliate and they could bomb the concentration camp of Gaza. This happened just before their next general elections and it is no surprise there but without this constant war footing there would be no need for these right wing nutters. Therefore it is in their interest to always exaggerate threats from abroad and claim the only way to defend themselves is by war not peace.

Israel has no-one to blame but themselves. It is their attitude and actions that has finally broken the straw and caused Palestine to go to the UN. If they truly wanted real peace and security they would have sat down and talk many years ago – however they were looking for any excuse not to go down this route.

If they want continual war, pariah status on the level of South Africa before the end of apartheid and even possible total destruction they are going about it the right way. The ball is in their court now if they really want peace they have every opportunity to show it to the world that is fastly turning against them.

Online warfare is now the norm as Anonymous and the Al-Quds Brigade attack Israeli computer systems

Online warfare is now the norm as Anonymous and the Al-Quds Brigade attack Israeli computer systems

By Dark Politricks

Recently we have had Anonymous claim to have used the “Great Oz Firewall” to prevent Karl Rove and co steal the American election.

This was by blocking his own hack attempts into key computers in swing states such as Iowa and Florida to switch votes over from Obama to Romney as apparently happened in 2000 and 2004.

Apparently a “power cut” occurred at exactly the same time this year as it did in 2004 and allowed the company connected to the Republicans to hook into electronic voting machines and toggle votes over to from the Democratic candidate to his opponent i.e. George W Bush.

If these claims by Anonymous are true then it truly is a shocking indictment of US politics and elections and just shows that even in democracies elections can be stolen.

It would certainly explain Karl Roves outburst on FOX News when he couldn’t believe that Iowa had been declared so prematurely.

Was he expecting something to happen, a power cut maybe, one that maybe occurred but didn’t have the desired effect due to the Great OZ Firewall Anonymous claims to have introduced to prevent this from occurring?

This is what Anonymous said before the election and indicated that they were watching Karl Roves attempts to influence the outcome by vote switching.

Then the other day when Israel started Operation Pillar of Defense, their latest attack on Gaza, Anonymous claimed to have infiltrated Israeli computer systems.

This included stealing thousands of email addresses and passwords, hacking hundreds of Israeli Web sites including government-owned ones as well as privately owned pages. They also hacked Israeli databases belonging to the Bank of Jerusalem and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A quote from their report on their attack which can be read in full here says:

Let us once again be perfectly clear: Anonymous does not in any way support the use of violence. Anonymous is a world wide collective of individuals whose means pursue human rights, justice, and universal equality for the citizens of every nation.

Pro-Israeli groups throughout the world have grown from a foundation of Israeli/US propaganda and lies. They arbitrarily dismiss the apartheid system of racial segregation and oppression imposed by the Israeli government on the Palestinian people. The fact of the matter is, in the eyes of the media, only the United States and it’s allies are capable of labelling another state or organization as a terrorists.

Throughout our campaign, we’ve been inundated with one response in particular; references to Hamas hiding in school buildings or using women and children as human shields. Selective memory seems to have given pro-Israeli organizations the ability to forget that in 2005 Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz appeared in court to defend the practice of using Palestinians as human shields in combat after a supreme court outlawed the practice, noting it violated International Law.

The reasons for Anonymous intervention through #OpIsrael should be abundantly clear: What is happening in Palestine is oppression. They have no navy, no army, or air force. There is no war in Gaza. There is only the continuous application of military force by Israel in an attempt to push every last person out of the Palestinian state, despite international laws that make these efforts illegal.

Then we also learn that the Al-Quds Brigades’ intelligence apparatus was able on Saturday to penetrate 5000 mobile phones that belong to Zionist soldiers who are taking part in the offensive against Gaza, and send them warning messages in Hebrew that said:

We will turn Gaza into a graveyard for your soldiers, and will turn Tel Aviv into flames (Al-Quds Brigades)“.

This faction further published files that belong to Zionist soldiers and that included important information (personal papers, names, birthdays, duties, private and work phone numbers, emails, jobs, positions, ID numbers, ages, and addresses). A scare tactic that is one of the few open to them at the moment as thousands of IDF troops amass on the border of Gaza ready to attack the population as they did in Operation Cast Lead.

It seems that whilst Israel and the USA can create the Stuxnet and Flame viruses to take out nuclear installations. The availability of easily downloadable hacking software gives even the smallest army or protest group the chance of fighting back, and anyone can help hack the “enemy” whoever they may be.

Warfare of every kind has truly been changed by the Internet.

How long after Bibi’s speech at the UN do we wait for a war with Iran?

How long after Bibi’s speech at the UN do we wait for a war with Iran?

By Dark Politricks

After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “performance” in the UN assembly the other day it is clear he is itching for a war with Iran.

Despite the facts of the matter e.g NO PROOF that Iran is building a bomb which comes from people such as top American and Israeli military and intelligence officials who have gone public to state that:

  • Iran has not decided to build a nuclear bomb.
  • Even if they did – they would be stupid to use it as America and Israel has thousands of nuclear bombs and they would be wiped out in seconds.
  • Plus even American intelligence operatives such as Director of National Intelligence James Clapper,  General Ron Burgess, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff agree that Iran is a “rational” state actor who wouldn’t suicidally kill their whole country for the sake of one (probably shot down) attempt at a nuclear strike on Israel.
If we want to see all of the following:
  • The Middle East in more flames as Syria and Iran go down fighting, with proxies such as Hezbollah and Hamas lobbing rockets into neighbouring countries, terrorists blowing themselves up on New York and London trains and more havoc than could be imagined at this point.
  • More US embassies being overrun and more US ambassadors being killed.
  • Yet more US and UK troops dying on foreign lands fighting wars for other countries.
  • The price of your petrol rise to stupendously high levels (they are already crazy in the UK £1.4+ for a litre of unleaded).
  • Another hypocritical breach of international law in which we let a member of the Nuclear non proliferation treaty (Iran) who has not been proved breaking it whilst a non signatory (Israel with their 200+ nukes) start another pre-emptive illegal war “just in case” they might have been right.
  • Then a war in Iran is just want we need.

We seem to forget that Iran has one of the largest populations of Jews outside Israel in the Middle East and they are not living in ghettos, forced into concentration camps, being exterminated or any of the other deeds carried out by the Nazi’s that led to Israels creation after World War 2. In fact they live quite comfortably.

Israel was a country created in the misguided belief that Palestine was a place with no inhabitants.

Just sat there waiting for thousands of Jews, many with no links to the land whatsoever, to come and kill British soldiers by the hundreds through terrorist organisations like Irgun and Stern gang. Then afterwards start a civil war – in which the seeds of a new “international law”, created by the USA and the Nuremberg trials to punish the Germans for their crimes against the Jews, were totally ignored by the same people who first benefited from them.

Laws that have still not been fulfilled. Such as the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes. Plus laws that are still breached to this day; such as the attacking of whole civilian populations as Israel did in Operation Cast Lead, targeted assassinations and illegal blockades of whole territories such as Gaza.

In fact it is no wonder that Israel along with the USA finds itself in a nice group of countries who haven’t signed up to the International Criminal Court alongside China, Iraq, Libya, Qatar, Yemen, India, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, and Turkey.

I suppose it’s because they would find their soldiers and leaders in the dock so often that they might as well set-up a camp alongside it.

I doubt acts such as these would be welcomed by bosses of the US Army as they would find themselves consuming whole years worth of dockets at the International Criminal Court.

Crimes such as:

I suppose it makes you understand why Israel and America were so keen NOT to join the International Criminal Court, even though Bill Clinton signed up to it before George W Bush withdrew the signature in 2002.

Maybe we just have to wait for Romney to steal the election with the help of the Koch brothers before we get this disastrous war with Iran which will undoubtedly worsen our global recession.

Or maybe Obama is just putting it all off until after the election so that he can use AIPAC dollars for his re-election campaign and then he will surprise us all by doing what US Presidents’s haven’t done previously in their last term – act like an honest broker between Israel and Palestine.

If he really, really tries to sort out that problem, the one all US Presidents weakly attempt to in their second term, then the anti-Zionist rage (not anti-semitic) will hopefully subside.

Maybe even Iran won’t consider the racist Israeli government a threat, which it is at the moment, with their hundreds of illegal nuclear weapons and their support for terrorist groups like the MEK who have just been removed from the US terrorist watchlist. A group who bombs, assassinates and terrorises Iranians all the time. But then they are “freedom  fighters” when they are fighting OUR enemies aren’t they!

Maybe once President Obama doesn’t have to think about another re-election then all that “change” he promised us he will actually try to deliver.

Maybe starting with actually letting Palestine become a real state in the eyes of the UN and remove the promise that the USA will always block votes aimed at curbing Israeli war crimes and breaches of international law in the UN Security Council.

Maybe when their crimes are re-examined in an international court (not that they subscribe to the concept of International law) such as the illegal blockade of Gaza, the occupation of Palestinian territory and their ethnic cleansing of East Jerusalem. He might actually grow a pair and try to prevent the submission and humiliation of the Palestinian people by the Zionist state.

Maybe if he doesn’t have to worry about AIPAC spies and blackmail (and just the possibility of assassination) he will actually stand up to Israel’s constant threats of external annihilation. A successful tactic they have used since their inception to excuse their wars and abuses and keep their population scared of all those “evil Muslims” that want to exterminate them.

Maybe he will even have enough of a pair to stand over Bibi and rip up his cartoon drawing of bomb telling him “no more”.

Maybe one day even Jews and Non Jews can live in a secular Israel/Palestine together as equals.

We can only dream.

Whatever is happening another war in the Middle East is not what we need right now!

So how long do after that comical performance by Bibi at the UN do you expect to see US and UK troops fighting for Israel against Iran once Bibi’s “red line” is crossed on his Road Runner like cartoon bomb?

The Teleprompter knows all votes in advance at the very undemocratic Democratic convention

The very undemocratic Democratic Convention

By Dark Politricks

A lot of people including myself have for years compared the US political system as a single-headed coin with two faces.

This duopoly is designed to appeal to both sides of the culture war. However both main political parties when in power continue the same  policies. Policies that are acted out whoever is voted in as President of America.

Whether it is a Democrat or Republican sitting in the most important position of the land. The policies that actually matter continue unabated.

Policies such as

  • Constant and ever expanding wars that only create enemies for future US generations of soldiers to fight.
  • The huge and all invasive police state that is being enlarged at home from the PATRIOT Act to the NDAA. From TRAPWIRE to ECHELON. From CCTV to the Police  secretly downloading whole mobile phones for GPS positions, call data and text messages.
  • The ever revolving door between Wall St and the Treasury that see’s big banks able to actually get the law changed retrospectively once they are caught breaking it.
  • The bailouts that use taxpayers money to pick winners and losers and allow the US government to pay back their biggest donors with handouts.
  • The lobbying and high spending during elections that prevent the breakthrough of any other party or independent unless they are a multi millionaire like Ross Perot was. Unless you have a few hundred million dollars to waste on elections and rich friends with their Super PACS. The spending on Presidential elections will only increase and increase maintaining the duopoly that strangles the political process and prevents new parties and new ideas from gaining traction in the political sphere.
  • The War on drugs that see a disproportionate amount of minorities locked up in prisons for long periods. The USA is supposed to be a country where the government stays of your back unless you’re hurting someone. Yet dare smoke a spliff, even in a state that has legalised medical marijuana, and the Federal government still feel the need to treat you as criminal scum and lock you up.
  • The power of the military industrial complex to keep on growing in size, eating up more and more of the total US GDP as Department of Defence/Attack money that is just to “important” to the country to cut. Whether it’s a Democrat or Republican in office the hundreds of US military bases and billion dollar embassies dotted around the world will remain whilst the poor have to put up with cuts to Medicaid, Social Security and other “entitlements” they have paid for through their taxes throughout their lives.
  • And something that will be discussed further along in the article is the decision to support Israel no matter how badly they act on the international stage. No matter how many targeted assassinations they do – something the US has now followed them with. No matter how many nukes they keep hidden and away from inspection whilst demanding Iran a member of the NPT put up with ever more inspections, special rules and threats of war if they decease from their perfectly legal activity. They also stay quiet as Israel kill American citizens whether caught on camera assassinating US citizens like Furkan Dogan and Rachel Corrie or covered up like the mass murder of US naval person-ell aboard the USS Liberty.

And they are just a few of the things that won’t change if Mitt Romney the least favourite of all the Republican runners gets voted in as President later this year.

However proof that both the GOP and Democratic conventions is just pure theater rather than groups of like-minded people getting together and voting together to form policy. Or even to choose what should be in their public statements has now come out in two embarrassing video clips from both parties conventions.

The following video clip shows how despite the audience at both parties conferences voting “nay” (in the negative) at least as equally as loud as the “yeighs” (positive), if no louder, they were overruled by the all-pervasive teleprompter which takes no consideration of party members feelings as the outcome had already been decided and then scripted for the speaker.

The fact that the delegates didn’t choose to go along with the pre-determined decision is a perfect sign of how little these mega parties really care about their members feelings.

For me the worst one of the two cases was the Democratic vote to restore a previous statement that Jerusalem was the capital of Israel – rather than under international law the supposed capital of both Israel and Palestine.

This came after FOX and other right-wing commentators made a fuss about the lack of mention of God in their speeches and how they had “removed” all mention of Israels divine right to claim Jerusalem, a piece of territory the Israeli’s are in the process of ethnically cleansing (through forced home purchasing for Jews), as their rightful capital.

GOP officials argued that not taking a position on Jerusalem’s status in the party platform showed the president was weak in his support of Israel. Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said that by omitting God it:

“suggests a party that is increasingly out of touch with the mainstream of the American people.” and that “I think this party is veering further and further away into an extreme wing that American’s don’t recognize”  – Not that God and Politics should be mixed in anyway in my own eyes.

Anyway it caused such a fuss that it was obviously decided by the powers that be, with undoubtably a bit of pressure from AIPAC behind the scenes, to re-add in these statements of support for Israel.

By doing so the Democrats made themselves look so controlling and fake they were indistinguishable from North Korea by the manner they chose to do it.

Instead of just adding the statement back in they wanted to provide the illusion that the decision was based on a majority of the Democratic delegates wanting to change it – which they obviously didn’t (a good sign in itself).

The convention chairman Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa called a vote of the delegates on the matter which stated that:

Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.

The crowd re-acted by shouting in the negative.

The number of yes’ were clearly outweighed by the shouts of no and the Mayor got so confused he attempted a re-vote in which exactly the same thing happened again.

Luckily a woman came up to him and helpfully told him to just ignore the actual feelings of the delegates and just carry on reading the ever knowing teleprompter.

However on this second vote in which large numbers of delegates shouted “NO” at the top of their lungs the mayor of Los Angeles ruled that the amendments had been approved by two-thirds majority even though it was blatantly obvious that it hadn’t at all.

Why – well it was on the teleprompter of course and he was just following the pre-determined line that had obviously been decided much earlier by powers above him.

Why the charade of asking members to vote on matters that could go both ways when the outcome had already been pre-decided I don’t know. However it was a small sign that the curtain hiding the Wizard of Oz was being peeled back to reveal an all-pervasive globalist and pro-Israeli agenda that will continue despite the wishes of Democratic members, delegates and most importantly voters.

In both cases (GOP and Democratic Party) If they had already decided on the outcome was what the point of asking the delegates to vote in the first place. Just to provide an unsuccessful illusion of democracy at a very undemocratic Democratic convention?

Both parties had this illusion of democracy destroyed and hopefully enough people saw these events to realise that whoever they vote for the next fours years have already been planned out – whoever takes the prize of POTUS.

For those people who have not witnessed these shameful events the following video should be mandatory watching.

Let’s imagine if Israel and the state of Palestine were actually your home

September 25, 2011

By Dark Politricks

Let’s imagine for a minute that you were in the position of a Christian person whose family had lived in the land of Palestine for many generations over hundreds of years.

Now imagine that instead of Palestine it was the UK or the USA or Russia, wherever you are from.

How would you feel if one day you were made homeless, a refugee, kicked out of your home and forced to live in a neighbouring country all because a group of Muslim people turned up and claimed the land as theirs.

What if most of these people had never even lived in your country or stepped foot in it before that day.

Many of these people are shipped in from overseas, due to their own homes being lost after war but all of them claiming your land, your home in Arkansas, Kent or Moscow, as their ancestral birth right.

What if most of these people referred back to an ancient story that many people took as nothing more than a fairy tale that had been written down many thousands of years ago as the sole reason for their right to take to your land.

Just imagine if thousands of people kicked you out of your home claiming that because they believed in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus it gave them the right to remove you from your home.

You may laugh but there are many religions in this world that many people see this way. I have heard Christians mock Muslims for worshipping the moon and show disdain for Hinduism with their many God’s instead of their sole supreme creator. One man’s religion is often treated with contempt by other seemingly religious people.

So now you are homeless and forced to live in a squalid refugee camp where your home is only a distant memory.

Years and years of wars, negotiations and broken treaties pass without any change in your situation. All you want to do is return home but you are not allowed to because your old country is now considered the home of Muslims only.

Your leaders are given the choice to have your own country, which is a tiny fragmented fraction of the size it had once been. But as a pre-condition of doing so they must first renounce your right to return back to your home and swear an oath that your old home, where you once lived alongside people of many other religious faiths, was now only the home of Muslims.

You were never allowed to go home, even though international law states the right of any refugees to do so.

You were to give up any hope of seeing your old town, your old home and old freinds again because these people had claimed you had no right to the land your family had lived on for hundreds of years.

Would you allow your leaders to make that pact?

To give up any hope of returning to your ancestoral lands in return for a small piece of land that was now controlled entirely by your new masters.

I don’t think many people would yet this is what the pro-israeli lobby want the Palestinians to do when they say that the Palestinians must recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Many Palestinian leaders have already done this and many have explicitly stated the right for Israel (as a non religious state) to exist.

However what they cannot accept is the entirely Jewish nature of the state that means Christians and Muslims, Hindu’s and Atheists alike are conceptually (if not physically) treated as 2nd class citizens on their own land.

In my eyes having any country classified as a religious state of any kind, whether it be Islamic, Christian or Jewish, is inherently sectarian in nature.

Israel as a state has the right to exist because the UN granted it’s creation in 1947.

However I can see no logical argument that allows for someone like myself to convert to Judaism and then under the “right of return” laws that exist in Israel be granted an Israeli passport.

This means that I could go and live in Israel as a Jew, a country and land I have no link to, whilst people who had lived on that land for many centuries are prohibited from doing so.

Just imagine for a minute if you were a Palestinian refugee living in a camp in Lebanon or Jordan. Could you accept this trade off as part of the “peace process” that Israel insists on. To give up any hope of a return to your home so that foreigners with no link to the land apart from ancient stories and myths can call it home instead?

If you say “yes I could” then I would like you to explain yourself in the comment section.

Please take the time to fill out this poll on Palestinian statehood as well.

A US Veto on Palestinian statehood will show up the UN as nothing more than a talking shop used to legitimise veto holding members own wars

September 22, 2011

By Dark Politricks

Whether or not Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas goes ahead with his bid for Palestinian statehood at the UN tomorrow or he is bought off at the last minute by backdoor deals and promises by President Obama and Israel the question of Palestinian independence should be a given for almost everyone.

Even though at last years UN general assembly meeting Obama made reference to full Palestinian membership. This
year he is threatening to veto any attempt at such a “unilateral” action and it has become pretty clear since his
fast start at placating the Muslim world with his Cairo speech in 2009 that any moral fibre or good intentions he may have had towards ending the Israeli Palestinian conflict has been overridden by realpolitik and Israeli pressure.

This was pretty clear when his only attempt at bringing peace between the two sides ended in abject failure and personal humiliation as it became clear that on matters concerning Israel even the President of the United States has to take his orders from somewhere else.

This subservience shines though even after multiple US military commanders have attacked unconditional support of Israel as putting US troops at risk, including Robert Gates who called Israel an ugratefull ally after the Israeli PM lectured and belittled the US President live on TV.

The repeated accusations of being a Muslim, the multiple letters signed by the majority of Congress on demand when AIPAC click their fingers attacking his anti-Israeli stance and the 29 standing ovations given to such a base speech by Benjamin Netanyahu showed the world who really pulls the strings when it comes to US policy towards Israel.

So now it is a year on and Obama and the USA are backtracking on their earlier promises of Palestinian statehood promising to veto any security council resolution if one is brought forward. Ben Rhodes, the White House national security council spokesman, told reporters after Obama met Abbas in New York that:

“We would have to oppose any action at the UN Security Council including, if necessary, vetoing,”

and today in Obama’s speech he said:

“peace was hard”

and that Israeli’s and Palestinians have to resolve this problem on their own directly insinuating that a vote by the U.N. would be fruitless.

If the USA uses it’s veto power as it has done on dozens of previous occasions to protect Israel it will just be another
sign that the UN is little more than a worthless talking shop that is used by the veto holding permanent members of the Security Council to give legitimacy to their own desires for war and conquest, such as Iraq and most recently with Libya whilst at the same time using it to prevent the legitimate aspirations of other nations to come to fruition.

Russia and China use their veto to block anything the USA, UK and France might want and the Western nations do the same which means that usually no consensus is ever achieved and nothing of significance is ever achieved at security council meetings.

Therefore it will be no surprise at all to see the USA once again show the world it’s hypocritical true nature when it blocks any Palestinian motion for statehood.

The UN has been an abject failure since it’s inception however nothing blots the UN and everything it stands for than the Israeli, Palestinian conflict.

As well as the endless negotiations that lead nowhere, we endure the hypocritical actions of countries like Libya and Iran that use UN bodies like the Human Rights Council to attack Israel for their human rights violations whilst at the same time real and significant violations of international law by Israel are constantly swept under the carpet with the US backing it up.

Personally I think the only logical solution to the conflict is to have a single democratic, non religious based country composing of both Israel and Palestine in which all people are treated equally whatever their religion or race.

There is nothing worse than right wing nationalistic governments that use fear of terrorism and the threat of constant war to keep their country together.

We can see this in Israel and we can see it growing in the USA. We fought the Second World War to defeat fascism
and afterwards we came together to give the world Human Rights, Conventions on future behaviour during wartime and the basis of international law which is supposed to be followed by all.

Western guilt for the treatment of the Jews under Hitler led to the mistreatment of the Palestinian people and the creation of a new country on their land. Whilst the Balfour agreement specified both peoples were to live together equally the Israeli Zionists used terrorism to push out the British and then the Palestinians.

Future attempts by sympathetic Arab countries to reclaim the land ended in failure and in recent years the Israeli state has been propped up by bought and paid for US politicians and free military hardware, illegal assassinations and wars on their neighbours all with the help of US puppet Arab dictators which held the peace together.

However times are a changing and Israel needs to look around and take note. The Arab Spring has shown that once the dictators are removed the people of the Middle East still support their Palestinian brothers and long term allies such as Egypt and Turkey are now barely on talking terms.

Not only is the Arab world showing its support for a Palestinian state but western nations also support the right of the Palestian people to rule themselves free from Israeli subjugation and humiliation.

The Mavi Marmara incident showed how much contempt Israel had for international law when it murdered Turkish and American peace activists trying to break the blockade of Gaza and then refused to apologise for their action.

This has recently been followed up by the killing of 5 Egyptian border guards following an attack on an Israeli border which led to the storming of the Israeli embassy in Cario and the evacuation of Israeli staff back home as hundreds of people attacked the building, knocking down walls, burning the Israeli flag and causing an international incident that once again showed how isolated Israel is becoming in the region.

Therefore whatever happens tomorrow it is clear from poll after poll as well as the streets of the Middle East
and many Western cities that the vast majority of the world support an end to the Palestinian occupation and oppression as well as a permanent end to the violence it’s people have suffered along with many Israelis since the creation of Israel over 50 years ago.

Israel was created by the UN because of our guilt after the second World War and there is no logical reason the UN cannot help create a Palestinian state.

It is certainly time we felt guilty for turning our back on the Palestinian people for so long and maybe we should think about the debt we owe them tomorrow when any vote is cast.

I agree with Col Gaddafi – only a one state solution will end the Israeli conflict

June 19, 2011

By Dark Politricks

It’s not often I say this but I actually agree with Col Gaddafi.

I don’t agree with his decision to crush legitimite protest or his tactic of targeting civillians during the current civil war in Libya. And I certainly don’t agree with his choice of friends. That Tony Blair really is a bad influence on Muammar and he really ought to choose who he hangs out with more wisely as it’s no wonder people think he is a liberty hating war monger when he hangs out with Tony 4 wars Blair.

No what I agree with Gaddafi about is his proposed solution for ending the Israeli Palestine conflict.

Whilst most people who want to see an end to this blot on humanity see a two state solution as the only answer like myself Gaddafi see’s the only real possibility to long lasting peace to be a one state solution in which all people currently within the borders of Israel and Palestine live together as equals.

What Gaddafi calls Isra-tine has been mocked by some including Larry King but anyone who puts logic above religion, Zionism and nationalism can clearly see that having a nuclear armed Zionist state surrounded by countries who despise the hypocrisy and double standards afforded to it will only lead to future arms races and more wars.

I understand the initial reasoning for a Jewish state as after the 2nd world war many Jews believed that the only way they could possibly escape the centuries of persecution and defend themselves from future atrocities would be through having their own powerful state which would be a safe haven for Jews from around the world.

However this Jewish homeland has been forged out of the blood of others and unless the Zionist mindset is reset I cannot see how a lasting peace could be forged when any future Palestinian state is only ever going to be a 2nd class country controlled by it’s heavily armed and immensely paranoid neighbour.

Whilst it might sound crazy at first a single state solution is really the only way to solve the situation permanently and fairly for everyone concerned and the current Jewish homeland is only ever going to be a source for future problems as long as Jews are treated as first class citizens and non Jews as strangers in the their own land.

The right of return is the single most problematic issue I can think of purely because being a Jew is a mixture of birth and choice but not a genetic or racial trait. If your mother is Jewish then you are Jewish but if your Father and Mother are both Muslims, Christians or Atheists you can convert to Judaism and then gain the right to an Israeli passport.

How is it right that thousands of people who have no historical roots to the country on the edge of the Mediterranean can gain citizenship to Israel and then claim it as it their birthright whilst Palestinians who have lived on that land for thousands of years are denied the same rights as those can call themselves Jewish?

Now despite what some numbnuts who have read a few posts on this site attacking Israeli foreign policy may believe I have nothing against Jews. In fact I have nothing against anyone of any religion, colour, country or mindset as long as they don’t try and push their own ideology and beliefs on me they can get on with whatever it is that makes them happy.

However it seems that if you dare question the legitimacy of certain Israeli actions such as their attack on the Mavi Marmara, their international law breaking policy of settlement expansion, their non compliance with the Non Proliferation Policy or their dubious history and continued use of false flag attacks which are pinned on Muslims you are somehow deemed an anti-semite.

Well if wanting every country in the world to abide by the same laws makes me a racist then I happily chose that label. However I really cannot see how the term racist can be applied to a classification of people who have no common racial traits. In fact the only thing that really binds most Israelis together is their wish to live in that part of the world and in that regards they have more in common with the Palestinians than most of their neighbours.

A single state solution would enable Jews and Palestinians to live together and hopefully learn that actually there is very little that separates them apart from their leaders desire that they should live apart.

On a religious note both Muslims and Jews have a common heritage. They both can’t eat Pork and other proscribed foods, they treat Friday as a special day and both claim to be able to trace their lineage back to Abraham. In fact apart from a few differences their religions are more similar than different.

Having a single democratic country that is bound by a constitution and bill of rights that sets in stone the equality of all peoples would solve so many problems that I cannot believe it is not put forward more often.

Having one state would mean that the country would be big enough for both peoples to live side by side and wherever they want. The religious settlers could settle wherever they wanted and the Palestinian refugees could end their decades in the wilderness and return home from the horrible squalid refugee camps they have had to endure for years.

Other Middle Eastern countries such as Syria and Iran would more than likely accept the single state solution as it would mean Zionism would cease to exist. Instead a secular democratic nation in which all religions are treated as equal would take it’s place and because Palestinians would cease to be 2nd class citizens on their own land a lot of the animosity aimed at Israel because of their treatment of the Palestinian people would no longer exist.

Of course the only real obstacle to this solution is the fact that the Zionists don’t want to make real peace with the Palestinians especially if it meant removing the “Jewish” nature of the state.

It seems Israel wants to join the ranks of Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the few countries in the world that base their whole nationalist identity around a religion. However even Islamic Iran allows other religions to exist within it’s boundaries and in fact outside Israel it has the largest number of Jews residing within it’s borders in the Middle East.

So because of the Israeli rulers desire to keep their country a Jewish State rather than a secular democratic country where anyone is welcome this plan is unlikely to come to fruition anytime soon. However just because an idea is currently unfashionable it doesn’t make it wrong and in the long term it make sense as the only real way to defuse current and future tension in that region.

Here is Col Gaddafi discussing his plans for Isra-tine on Larry King and AlJazeera.

The Goldstone report and the Israeli accusations against its author

January 31, 2010

By Dark Politricks

The Goldstone report was commissioned by the UN to look into accusations of war crimes during the invasion of Gaza by Israel during 2009 which left over a thousand Palestinians dead mostly children and women. The Gaza strip is still being blockaded by Israel to this day with limited supplies of water, food and medical aid being allowed into what basically is a very large prison camp. There is basically no or very little economy inside Gaza and the people cannot move about freely or leave without permission from their guards even those suffering appalling injuries or sever health problems have had their request to leave for treatment delayed or refused by the Israelis.

The report by the Jewish Zionist South African judge Richard Goldstone, who has obviously been labelled a self hating Jew by the pro-Israel can do no wrong lobby, looked at crimes on both sides of the war and found that Hamas committed war crimes by firing rockets indiscriminately into Israeli populated areas but also that Israel broke international law by committing numerous crimes including:

  • Shooting unarmed and even tied up civilians.
  • Shooting teenagers who were carrying wounded civilians.
  • Bombing Hospitals and homes.
  • Collective punishment of a whole population for the misdeeds of some.

Israel was also accused of using banned weapons in civilian areas such as the White Phosphorus attack on the UN compound and on civilian areas which is expressly forbidden by international law. The following video shows one such victim of a white phosphorus attack which killed his sister when the house they were in was attacked at night.

Obviously Israel and Zionist supporters have not taken too kindly to being accused of commiting war crimes and they used their influence and power in US politics to get Congress to support a bill striking down the report as “biased and unworthy of further consideration”.

The bill was passed 344-36. Dennis Kucinich who was one of the few good politicians to vote against the resolution made a powerful speech against the bill which I have outputted below:

“Today we journey from Operation Cast Lead to Operation Cast Doubt,” he said on the House floor on Tuesday. “Almost as serious as committing war crimes is covering up war crimes, pretending that war crimes were never committed and did not exist.”

“Because behind every such deception is the nullification of humanity, the destruction of human dignity, the annihilation of the human spirit, the triumph of Orwellian thinking, the eternal prison of the dark heart of the totalitarian.”

“The resolution before us today, which would reject all attempts of the Goldstone Report to fix responsibility of all parties to war crimes, including both Hamas and Israel, may as well be called the ‘Down is Up, Night is Day, Wrong is Right: resolution.”

“Because if this Congress votes to condemn a report it has not read, concerning events it has totally ignored, about violations of law of which it is unaware, it will have brought shame to this great institution.”

“How can we ever expect there to be peace in the Middle East if we tacitly approve of violations of international law and international human rights, if we look the other way, or if we close our eyes to the heartbreak of people on both sides by white-washing a legitimate investigation?”

“How can we protect the people of Israel from existential threats if we hold no concern for the protection of the Palestinians, for their physical security, their right to land, their right to their own homes, their right to water, their right to sustenance, their right to freedom of movement, their right to human security of jobs, education and health care?”

“We will have peace only when the plight of both Palestinians and Israelis is brought before this House and given equal consideration in recognition of that principle that all people on this planet have a right to survive and thrive, and it is our responsibility, our duty to see that no individual, no group, no people are barred from this humble human claim.”

It seems that Congress would rather take the side of Israel no matter what they did and when they vote in such numbers for a bill that few of them have even bothered to read purely on the basis that it is in support for Israel then one can only wonder why. Dennis Kucinich paid a price for his balanced perspective on foreign policy matters as he was later dropped from a Democratic fund-raiser in Palm Beach County because of his supposedly anti-Israeli stance in voting for the Goldstone report.

Indeed the political pressure from the Israeli lobby was also being put on the author of the report itself with the leader of the ADL (Anti Defamation League), Abraham Foxman, calling on Judge Goldstone to repudiate his own report with the following statement:

“I have had great respect for you over the years. Your work at the head of the South Africa Reconciliation Commission and in helping to find a just solution to the Bosnian conflict deserves the highest commendation.”

“Moreover, I know you to be a proud Jew who serves on the Board of Trustees of Hebrew University and who has a daughter living in Israel.”

“With this background, I wondered in the first place how you could take on the chairmanship of the investigation of the war in Gaza mandated by the UN Human Rights Council,” he said. “After all, the Human Rights Council has repeatedly demonstrated its bias against Israel and in its stated mission for the investigation began with assumptions presuming Israeli guilt.”

The pressure also came from those within the Israeli government and the finance minister Yuval Steinitz made the following statement when asked about Goldstone:

“Some people can be unfair, unjust, unbalanced and even of bad character. So it is with Jews. Just as a non-Jew can be anti-Semitic, a Jew can also be anti-Semitic and discriminate against our people and despise and hate our people.”

It seems that nothing is good enough for the Israelis and even though the UN put a vehemently pro Israeli Zionist such as Goldstone in charge to investigate matters it just wasn’t good enough to elivate fears of anti-Israeli bias. This really does play into the hands of true anti-Semites as it seems to observers that Israelis believe they can do no wrong. No country can be above reproach and get away with war crimes and that includes the USA, the UK and Israel however it looks like that anyone who questions Israeli behaviour is either an anti-semite if they aren’t Jewish or a self hater if they are no matter how much legitimate authority they have to do so.

This hypocrisy and double standards can be seen by the way that the Israeli treats war crimes. The crimes of the second world war which affected the Jewish community so much helped to change international law in that someone accussed of a war crime in one country can be tried in another. This concept of universal jurisdiction is one which Israel has used itself in its prosecution of suspected Nazi war criminals and they were one of the first countries to support the formation of permanent court of law for crimes against humanity.

However as soon as occupied territories (Palestine) were added to the mandate that the court could cover they suddenly changed their mind about this lofty ideal that crimes against humanity hold no national boundaries and voted against the founding of a permanent International Court of Justice joining the likes of China and Libya.

The Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was none too pleased about the Goldstone report either and when he visited the UN to make a speech in September 2009 he told the assembly exactly what he thought about the report and the Human rights council who he said was “a misnamed institution if there ever was one.”

“Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted….”

“…Israel sought to conduct surgical strikes against the rocket launchers.

“That was no easy task because the terrorists were firing missiles from homes and schools, using mosques as weapons depots and ferreting explosives in ambulances. Israel, by contrast, tried to minimize casualties by urging Palestinian civilians to vacate the targeted areas. “

“We dropped countless flyers over their homes, sent thousands of text messages and called thousands of cell phones asking people to leave. Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way. “

“Yet faced with such a clear case of aggressor and victim, who did the UN Human Rights Council decide to condemn? Israel. A democracy legitimately defending itself against terror is morally hanged, drawn and quartered, and given an unfair trial to boot.”

“Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted.”

Rather than debate the reports findings and whether or not Israel has the right to defend itself which it undoubtedly does just like the Palestinians do when they are attacked we should let the reports author explain its findings himself. The following video is an interview between Judge Goldstone and Bill Moyers who discusses his report in detail and explains why the actions taken by the Israeli Defence Force were war crimes rather than just acts of war and collatoral damage.

The full Goldstone report into the Gaza conflict can be viewed here: the UN report into Gaza.
